Purpose: To investigate the clinical effect of joint cavity injection combined with traditional Chinese medicine manipulation in the treatment of frozen shoulder in the period of adhesion. Methods: 62 patients with frozen shoulder in the orthopaedic clinic of our hospital from September 2018 to September 2020 were collected and divided into two groups according to treatment methods. The control group received intra-articular injection therapy(31 cases),and the treatment group received intra-articular injection therapy + manipulative treatment of traditional Chinese medicine(31 cases).Patients in the two groups were scored before treatment,4 weeks after treatment,8 weeks after treatment and12 weeks after treatment.Including shoulder Passive Angle of activity(flexion, abduction, extension, internal rotation, external rotation);Visual Analogue Score(VAS)for pain;Sleep Quality was evaluated by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI);Shoulder function Score(Constant-Murley Score,CMS)and clinical efficacy. Results: All 62 patients successfully completed treatment and were followed up for an average of 4.2 ± 1.3(3-6)months,without local inflammation, infection, joint dislocation and other serious complications. At the time points before and 4,8 and 12 weeks after treatment, shoulder motion and CMS scores in 2 groups were significantly increased, while VAS score and PSQI score were significantly decreased, and the differences at different time points were statistically significant(P<0.05);Before treatment, there were no significant differences in shoulder motion,VAS score,PSQI score and CMS score between the two groups(P > 0.05).At 4,8 and 12 weeks after treatment, the anterior flexion, abduction, internal rotation and CMS scores of the treatment group were better than those of the control group(P<0.05);At4 and 8 weeks after treatment, extension, external rotation,VAS score and PSQI score in the treatment group were better than those in the control group(P < 0.05),12 weeks after treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in extension, external rotation,VAS score and PSQI score between the two groups(P > 0.05);In the last follow-up,the total effective rate in the control group was 28 cases(90.32%),and the total effective rate in the treatment group was 30 cases(96.77%).There was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).Conclusion: Joint injection and joint injection combined with traditional Chinese medicine manipulation in the treatment of frozen shoulder in the adhesion period have satisfactory short-term clinical efficacy. However, compared with the joint injection, the joint injection combined with traditional Chinese medicine technique can relieve pain faster, improve sleep and improve shoulder function earlier,At the same time, the treatment technology is simple, high safety factor, worth popularizing in clinic.
