Clinical Study Of Juanbi Decoction In The Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis With Cold And Dampness Obstruction

Objective :This study mainly analyzed the clinical efficacy of modified Juanbi Decoction in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis(KOA)of cold dampness obstruction type,and objectively observed and evaluated the safety and efficacy of this traditional Chinese medicine prescription.And the mechanism of action is further discussed,in order to provide theoretical basis and more effective treatment for KOA.Methods :98 patients with koa from September 2018 to September 2020 were randomly divided into experimental group(49 cases)and control group(49 cases).The control group was treated with western medicine indomethacin enteric coated tablets,while the experimental group was treated with Juanbi decoction,1 week as a course of treatment,4 courses of treatment.The clinical symptoms and scores of joint tenderness and swelling,IL-1 β,TNF-α and MMP-13 in the blood,TCM syndrome score,total efficacy of TCM,incidence and safety of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:There was no significant difference in VAS score and WO MAC score of joint tenderness,swelling between the two groups before treatment(P > 0.05),after treatment,VAS score and WOMAC score of joint tenderness,swelling in the two groups were decreased,and the two kinds of scores in the experimental group were significantly decreased compared with the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the contents of IL-1 β,TNF-α and MMP-13 in the blood between the two groups(P>0.05),after treatment,the contents of IL-1 β,TNF-α and MMP-13 in the two groups were decreased,and the three inflammatory factors in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the scores of main symptoms,secondary symptoms and total TCM syndromes between the two groups(P>0.05),after treatment,the scores of main symptoms,secondary symptoms and total TCM Syndromes of the two groups decreased,and the scores of main symptoms,secondary symptoms and total TCM syndromes of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the experimental group was 91.84%,while the rate of the control group was73.47%,the difference between two groups was significant(P<0.05).After treatment,there were no adverse reactions between the groups;there were no significant differences in safety indexes between the groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion:The clinical effect of Huanbi decoction in the treatment of cold and dampness obstruction KOA is remarkable,which is obviously superior to that of conventional western medicine.It can effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms of knee joint pain and improve knee joint function in patients with cold and dampness obstruction KOA.
