| ObjectiveTo observe the clinical curative effect of tendon acupuncture together with tuina manipulation on early and middle knee osteoarthritis. To explore a safe and acceptable treatment for patients as well as aims to provide reference for the clinical treatment of early and middle KOA.MethodSeventy-two patients who meet the standards of KOA were enrolled and allocated randomly to a treatment group and a control group, each group has 36 cases.Tendon acupuncture and tuina manipulation will be received by the treatment group besides the control group will be taken tuina manipulation only.To match the visual analogue scale(VAS)and Western Ontario and Mc Master Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)between the two groups before and after for clinical efficacy evaluating.Results1.The Analysis on the General DataStatistically to analysis the general information of two groups prior treatment, the result suggests that there are no difference between two groups statistically(P > 0.05),which proves two groups are comparable.2.The Analysis on the Efficacy Index Results2.1 The Analysis on the VAS score and WOMAC score before the treatmentA statistical analysis is made on these two scores before the treatment, which shows the difference between two groups is not statistically significant(P> 0.05),and suggests that two groups are comparable.2.2 The Pre-treatment and Post-Treatment Comparison of the Same Group(1)In the treatment group the difference of The VAS score and WOMAC score shows statistically(P> 0.05)before and after the treatment, which proves that the use of tendon acupuncture and tuina manipulationis efficacious in the treatment of middle and early knee osteoarthritis.(2)In the pre-treatment and post-treatment the VAS score and WOMAC score shows in the control group the difference is statistically(P> 0.05),which proves that the use of tuina manipulation only is efficacious in the treatment of middle and early knee osteoarthritis.2.3 The Analysis on the VAS Scores and WOMAC Scores in the Two Groups in Post-Treatment After the treatment, the VAS scores and WOMAC scores between two groups are different which means statistically(P<0.05),also shows the treatment group prevails over the control group.3.The Clinical Efficacy EvaluatingAfter the treatment, the treatment group of overall rate of improvement is 94.44%.The control group includes 3 cases of complete recovery,9 cases of significant improvement,19 cases of improvement, and 5 cases of no improvement. The overall rate of improvement is 86.11%.As is suggested the difference in the efficacy of two groups is statistically significant(P<0.05).Moreover,the treatment group includes more cases of complete recovery than the control group, which proves that the combined use of tendon acupuncture and tuina manipulation is more effective than tuina manipulation only in pain relieving and joint function improvement during the treatment of early and middle knee osteoarthritis.Conclusion1.The combination of tendon acupuncture and tuina manipulation or tuina manipulation only can be effective.2.The overall efficacy of the treatment group combining use of tendon acupuncture and tuina manipulation is higher than the control group whose treatment is tuina manipulation only on early and middle knee osteoarthritis curing.3.The combined use of tendon acupuncture and tuina manipulation is more effective than tuina manipulation only on early and middle KOA in alleviating knee pain and improve joint function.Additionally, the combination of tendon acupuncture and tuina manipulation is safety and acceptable to the patients which means it has a advantageous effect on the recovery of early and middle knee osteoarthritis. |
