Objective: To explore and summarize Professor Wang Tan’s medication rules and academic ideas in the treatment of pulmonary distension by collecting and sorting out the cases of pulmonary distension patients diagnosed and treated by Professor Wang Tan’s outpatient department and using statistical methods. Methods: the cases of lung distension diagnosed and treated by Professor Wang Tan from January 2015 to June 2020 were collected, and the basic information, syndromes and prescriptions of the patients in the cases were entered into the Microsoft Office Excel 2016 worksheet, and the database was established after the specific prescriptions were standardized.SPSS statistics 22 and other software were used to count the frequency of syndromes and drugs in prescriptions, screen out common syndromes and high-frequency drugs, and carry out systematic cluster analysis on high-frequency drugs. This paper summarized and counted the four Qi,five flavors, meridian tropism and drug categories of drugs, and analyzed Professor Wang Tan’s medication rules and academic thoughts in treating pulmonary distension. Results: 203 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine were involved in this study, and the cumulative frequency of drug use was 15056 times, with an average of 12.62 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine in each prescription. The frequency of warm drugs was the highest, with a frequency of 28.37%.The frequency of sweet, bitter and pungent drugs in five kinds of drugs was much higher than other kinds of drugs, and the frequency of lung channel drugs was the highest, with a frequency of 58.39%.There were 63 high-frequency drugs in total, and the frequency of tonifying deficiency drugs was the highest, with a frequency of 26.11%.Through the systematic cluster analysis of high-frequency drugs, nine cluster square groups were obtained.Statistics of Professor Wang Tan treatment of lung distension of five common syndrome types.Conclusion:1.From the syndrome analysis: wind cold evil Qi,qi stagnation, water drinking, phlegm turbidity, fire evil are the common pathological factors causing lung distension.Professor Wang Tan paid attention to the interference of wind cold evil,qi stagnation, water drinking, phlegm turbidity and fire evil in the process of syndrome differentiation and treatment of lung distension, and paid attention to regulating liver and cultivating soil to generate gold.Professor Wang Tan’s five common syndrome types for treating lung distension are as follows: "external cold and internal drink syndrome","gallbladder stomach disharmony syndrome","phlegm heat accumulation in lung,Qi and Yin injury syndrome","liver yang hyperactivity, lung qi stagnation syndrome","spleen and stomach deficiency cold syndrome".2.According to the analysis of the four Qi,five flavors and meridian tropism of drugs,Professor Wang Tan used cold and warm drugs in the treatment of lung distension. Most of the five drugs used are sweet, bitter and pungent. The most common drugs are those that return to the hand,Taiyin and lung meridians. They pay attention to both the viscera and the stomach, especially the regulation of the five viscera and the protection of the stomach.3.According to the analysis of drugs,Professor Wang Tan paid attention to the adjustment of the deficiency of viscera in the treatment of lung distension, and also paid attention to the elimination of phlegm, water, blood stasis and fire evil,as well as the treatment of external pathogenic Qi.4.High frequency drug system cluster analysis: a total of 9 clustering formula groups were obtained, which are suitable for hyperactivity of liver Yang, external cold and internal drink, mutual accumulation of yin and blood stasis, large intestine stagnation, gallbladder stomach disharmony, spleen channel fire, phlegm heat accumulation in lung,Qi and Yin injury, kidney yang deficiency, lung and spleen qi deficiency, etc.
