Objective:To evaluate the infuence and long-term stability of edentulous space on lateral bone augmentation with delayed implantation in the maxillary anterior area. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed, patients with consecutive missing maxillary anterior teeth who were treated in the department of implant dentistry in Yantai stomatological hospital from January 2013 to June 2019 were included, all patients were treated with lateral bone augmentation and delayed implantation.Patients were divided into two groups according to the edentulous space, group A with 2missing teeth space, group B with 3-6 missing teeth space.A 3D bone model derived from CBCT was established, the augmented bone width and volume were measured and analyzed by using Mimics, the effects of different edentulous spaces and the site were compared.Periapical radiology was performed on the day of bone augmentation and implant restoration、at the time of 6 months follow-up and 5years.Image J was used to analyze the changes of peri-implant bone marginal level and the gray scals change of peri-implant bone.Record the occurrence of complications and failure of implantation.Using SPSS 26.0 software, statistical analysis of the measured results,P<0.05 indicates that the difference is statistically significant. Results:A total of 44 patients were included with 122 missing teeth and 94 implants,of which,44 implants in group A and 50 implants in group B.Comparison between groups:There was no statistically significant difference as regarding to the augmented bone volume between groups(P>0.05);The augmented bone width in group A was significantly smaller than that in group B(P < 0.05);There were no significant differences in the bone width and volume absorption rate of the bone augmentation zone, the bone loss height around the implant and the gray value around the implant between A and B(P>0.05).The changes in the volume and width of the bone augmentation zone in the two groups A and B,the height of bone loss around the implant and the gray value changes around the implant showed a significant linear relationship with time changes, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);And there was no correlation between group changes, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05);there was no interaction with time and group, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.In the study of delayed implantation of horizontal bone augmentation in the aesthetic zone, different tooth gap sizes affect the width of bone augmentation.2.Delayed implantation after bone augmentation at different tooth gap levels in the aesthetic area can achieve a higher success rate. The bone augmentation area of??different tooth gaps and the bone around the implant have the same stability, and satisfactory long-term stability can be obtained.3.The stability of the bone augmentation zone and the stability of the bone around the implant are highly correlated with time changes. The stability of the bone augmentation from immediately after surgery to 6 months after the completion of the repair showed a downward trend. From 6 months after the completion of the repair to 5years after the bone augmentation, the stability shows an increasing trend.
