With the development of economic globalization,the world has gradually become an integral whole,which has expanded the scope of health field.The complex problems in global health need to be solved by multi-disciplinary knowledge.Moreover,the transformation of knowledge production mode makes knowledge production more situational and interdisciplinary,bringing the interdisciplinary revolution to university academic organization and talents cultivation mode.In this context,this thesis takes the Duke Global Health Institute as an example to analyze its interdisciplinary talents training practice and summarize enlightenment from it.Lastly,put forward the experience for China’s interdisciplinary talents cultivation.This thesis holds that the research on interdisciplinary talents cultivation can deepen the discussion of talents cultivation theory,which further innovates the concept of talents cultivation in China,meeting students’ diverse and personalized learning interests,as well as improving the talents cultivation quality.In order to further understand the requirements of Global Health for talents cultivation,this thesis first introduces the origin of the concept of Global Health,the importance of Global Health fields,as well as the impact of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health and universities in promoting the development of Global Health.Next,this thesis expounds Duke University’s action participating in the field of global health--the establishment of Duke Global Health Institute,which provides organizational guarantee for interdisciplinary research and interdisciplinary education.With the help of the analysis framework of Constructivism Learning Theory,this thesis studies and analyzes the training objectives,curriculum system,teaching methods and ability training of Global Health undergraduates and postgraduates in Duke University,from the perspective of Constructivism knowledge view,learning view and teaching view.And then concludes the experience of interdisciplinary talents cultivation of Duke University.First,the design of interdisciplinary curriculum system has realized the integration from differentdisciplines,from theoretical knowledge to practical training and from home to abroad in geographical scope.Second,the cultivation adheres to Student-centeredness,adopting Study-based teaching methods,such as Case analysis and Problem-based Learning.Third,it aims to cultivate students’ high-level cognitive ability,establish Global Health values and the ability to solve complex problems.Finally,the thesis proposes some suggestions for the interdisciplinary talents cultivation in China.This thesis considers that interdisciplinary talents cultivation is a process in which the teaching objectives,curriculum system,teaching methods,resources and other elements exert their joint efforts,especially the interdisciplinary curriculum system and Study-based teaching are essential for students to learn knowledge integration,and emphasize on training students’ interdisciplinary thinking.At the same time,interdisciplinary talents cultivation should always pay attention to the integration of science and education,teaching by research,and effectively cultivate innovative talents.
