Antibiotics are new environmental pollutants, because of the serious abuse of antibiotics,a "false persistence" phenomenon has formed in the environment. In order to be able to propose effective suggestions for the relevant government departments of our country to formulate antibiotic management policies, improve the level of public environmental health management, prevent the antibiotic pollution and protect the public health, this article will use bibliometric method to study the distribution characteristics of Tetracyclines,Sulfonamides,Quinolones and Macrolides in the water environment of the Yangtze River Basin and the Pearl River Basin in China, and use the model of ecological risk assessment and health risk assessment that the US Environmental Protection Agency recommended to assess the potential ecological risks and the levels of non-carcinogenic health risks to the four major classes of antibiotics such as Tetracyclines and 17 small classes of antibiotics such as Doxycycline in the water environment of the Yangtze River Basin and the Pearl River Basin separately. The main results obtained were summarized as follows:(1)The degree of antibiotic pollution in the Pearl River Basin in China is higher than that in the Yangtze River Basin. The most important component of antibiotic contamination in the two river basins is Sulfamethazine,Sulfamethoxazole and Oxytetracycline, and there is a significant difference in antibiotic pollution between the main and tributaries of the Pearl River Basin. The pollution levels of the important water bodies in the Yangtze River are as follows: Taihu Lake>Yangtze River>Huangpu River>Chaohu Lake>Poyang Lake>Dongting Lake; The pollution levels of the important water bodies in the Pearl River Basin are as follows: Shenzhen River>Pearl River>Pearl River Delta>Beijiang and Dongjiang>Yongjiang River.Except for the Huangpu River water, the time distribution characteristics of antibiotics in the water environment of the two river basins are dry season higher than flood season.(2)The combined ecological risk levels of the water environment in the Yangtze River Basin and the Pearl River Basin in China are both medium risks, and the ecological risks of the Pearl River Basin water environment are higher than those of the Yangtze River Basin. It is mainly composed of Sulfadiazine、Sulfamethoxazole,Oxytetracycline and Ciprofloxacin in the two major river basins.Macrolides in both river basins is minimal. The ecological risks of important water bodies in the Yangtze River Basin are listed in descending order: Taihu Lake>Yangtze River>Huangpu River>Chaohu Lake>Dongting Lake>Poyang Lake. The ecological risks of important water bodies in the Pearl River Basin are as follows: Shenzhen River> Pearl River> Pearl River Delta> Beijiang and Dongjiang> Yongjiang River.(3)The level of non-carcinogensin health risks in the Pearl River Basin is higher than that in the Yangtze River Basin. The types of antibiotics with the highest health risks in the two river basins are Sulfonamides, and the non-carcinogensin health risk to adult women is significantly higher than that to adult men.Among the important water bodies in the Yangtze River Basin, the health risks are ranked in descending order: Taihu>Yangtze River>Chaohu Lake>Huangpu River>Poyang Lake>Dongting Lake; The ranking of health risks in the Pearl River Basin is as follows: Shenzhen River>Pearl River>Yongjiang River>Beijiang and Dongjiang>Pearl River Delta.
