Objective:To compare the effects of Euclid and Lucid keratoplasty on the ocular surface of adolescents with myopia. Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on 81 adolescent myopia patients(153 eyes)admitted to the department of ophthalmology of changshu first people’s hospital from July 2016 to October 2018.Among them,41(77 eyes)wore Euclid keratoplasty and 40(76 eyes)wore Lucid keratoplasty.Observed in two groups of patients before and after 1 week,1 month,3 months of the uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA),diopter and intraocular pressure(IOP),tearbreakup time(BUT),conjunctival congestion rate, schirmer I test, corneal epithelium fluorescence staining, ocular surface disease index scale(OSDI),surface regularity index(SRI),the sleep K value(KS)and the flat K value(KF).Results:There was no significant difference in UCVA,diopter and IOP between the two groups(P>0.05).OSDI scores of the patients in the two groups were compared, the Lucid group was lower than that in Euclid group at week 1(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference between the two groups at month 1 and month 3(>0.05).BUT comparisons were lower in the Euclid group at 1 week,1 month, and 3 months after wearing the lenses than in the Lucid group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The incidence of conjunctival hyperemia after 1 week,1 month and 3 months in the Euclid group was 0.00%,7.99%,and 18.18%,respectively.The incidence of conjunctival hyperemia after 1 week,1 month, and 3 months in the Lucid group was 0.00%,7.99%,and 18.18%,respectively.The incidence of conjunctival congestion after 3 months was 0.00%,6.58%,and 11.84%,respectively,with no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Comparison of fluorescein staining of corneal epithelium between the two groups showed that the grade 0 fluorescein staining rates in Euclid group were 75.32%,84.42%and 98.70%,respectively,at 1 week,1 month and 3 months after wearing glasses. The fluorescein staining rates of grade Ocorneal epithelium were 84.21%,90.79%and 100.00%respectively at 1 week,1 month and 3 months. There was no significant difference between the two groups.(P>0.05).The incidence of corneal staining grade Ⅰ,Ⅱ,and Ⅲ at 1 week,1 month, and 3 months in the Lucid group was lower than that in the Euclid group, but there was no significant difference between the two groups(X2=2.622,P=0.454).The changes of corneal curvature in the two groups were significantly lower than those before wearing(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).In comparison of SRI between the two groups, the SRI after wearing mirror was higher in the two groups at 1 week,1 month, and 3 months after wearing mirror than before wearing mirror(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Wearing Euclid and Lucid keratoscope have effects on the ocular surface, but there is no significant difference in the incidence of ocular surface complications between the two lenses. The comfort of Lucid wearers is better than that of Euclid wearers, perhaps related to Lucid’s own lens design and material surface treatment.
