| ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to observe the efficacy and safety of Huoxue Yuchang prescription for mild to moderate ulcerative colitis(UC),such as clinical symptoms and activity,endoscopic score,quality of life,and adverse reactions.And to compare with Salofalk(Mesalazin Enteric-coated Tablets)to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Huoxue Yuchang prescription in treating mild and moderate UC,which may provide efficacy and safety basis for the further promotion and application of Huoxue Yuchang prescription.MethodFrom August 2016 to January 2018,20 cases of mild to moderate UC patients in the hospitalization department and outpatient department of Guangdong Province Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital were admitted,and they were divided randomly and they were in accordance with the requirements.The patients were randomly divided into the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group and the western medicine group(the Salofalk group),each group with 10 cases.The Huoxue Yuchang prescription group was treated with Huoxue Yuchang prescription group granule and Western medicine analogue tablet,and the western medicine group was treated with western medicine tablets(Salofalk)and traditional Chinese medicine analogue granule.The treatment course was8 weeks.Before and after treatment,the basic status of the related examination and evaluation(such as three major routine,coagulation function,liver and kidney function,electrocardiogram,etc.)and colonoscopy were carried out to observe the improvement of the clinical efficacy(symptom grade,Mayo score,AI score),aand endoscopic score in eighth week.The data obtained were compiled by SPSS 24 software,and the data were recorded and compared between the two groups.Result1.Symptom score and curative effect evaluation:(1)Main symptom scores:The scores of the main symptoms of both the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group and the Western medicine group were reduced after treatment(P<0.05),and the difference of the main symptoms before and after treatment of Huoxue Yuchang prescription group and the western medicine group was P<0.05,the difference was statistically significant,showing the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group improved the main symptoms more remarkably than the Western medicine group.(2)Secondary scores: Both the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group and the Western medicine group had lower scores after treatment(P<0.05).The differences in the scores of the secondary syndromes before and after treatment between the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group and the western medicine group were P<0.05,and there were statistical differences,indicating the Huoxue Yuchangfang group improved the secondary symptoms more prominently than the western medicine group.(3)Symptomatic efficacy: The total effective rate of Huoxue Yuchang prescription group was100%,and the markedly effective rate was 80%;the total effective rate of western medicine group was 90%,and the markedly effective rate was 30%.The difference between the two groups was P<0.05,and the difference was statistically significant.The effect of Huoxue Yuchang prescription group was more marked than that of the western medicine group.2.Mayo/AI/ endoscopic curative effect:(1)the Mayo score before and after treatment was compared,the Mayo score of the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group and the western medicine group decreased(P<0.05),but the difference of the integral difference between the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group and the western medicine group was P>0.05,the difference was not statistically significant.There was no significant difference in the effect of reducing Mayo score in the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group with the western medicine group.(2)the AI score before and after treatment was compared,the AI score of Huoxue sausage group and Western medicine group decreased(P<0.05),but the difference of integral difference between Huoxue Yuchang prescription group and Western medicine group after treatment was P>0.05,the difference was not statistically significant,indicating that there was no significant difference in the curative effect of reducing AI score in the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group compared with the western medicine group.(3)the endoscopic score before and after treatment was compared,and the endoscopic score of the western medicine group of Huoxue sausage group was reduced(P<0.05),but the difference was P>0.05 after treatment in the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group and the western medicine group.There was no significant difference between the treatment group and the western medicine group.(4)the clinical efficacy of the two groups before and after treatment and the effect of enteroscopy were compared to P>0.05,the difference was not statistically significant,indicating that there was no significant difference in the clinical effect and the enteroscopy effect between the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group and western medicine group.3.Quality of life assessment: the results of this study suggest that the IBDQ score of the two groups before and after treatment is higher than before(P<0.05),the difference is statistically significant,indicating that the Huoxue Yuchang prescription and Western medicine can improve the IBDQ score,and the difference of integral difference between the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group and the western medicine group before and after the treatment of the western medicine group is P<0.05,the difference is statistically significant,indicating that the Huoxue Yuchang prescription group is more conducive to improve the IBDQ score than the western medicine group,and the patient’s quality of life is higher.ConclusionHuoxue Yuchang prescription has a certain effect on mild and moderate ulcerative colitis.It has a higher safety and better effect on improving the main symptoms,secondary symptoms and patients’ quality of life.There is no significant difference in the effect of Mayo score,AI score and endoscopic score compared to Salofalk.Further clinical research is needed before it can be widely applied. |
