Objective: The new zirconia brackets and three different types of brackets(polycrystalline ceramic brackets,metal brackets,and metal self-locking brackets)are currently used clinically as the research object.The methods of ligation were rubber bands and ligatures,and combined with different sizes of archwire(0.018 rectangle round wire,0.018×0.025 rectangle square wire and 0.019×0.025 rectangle square wire)under the dry and saliva conditions,to study the friction resistance between different combinations.This provides a theoretical support for the rational selection of archwires and ligation methods for the clinical use of the new zirconia brackets,in order to provide a basis for clinical use.Methods: Sixty different types of brackets were divided into two groups: dry environment and artificial saliva environment.They were divided into six groups in two environments.They were: rubber band and 0.018 round archwire group,rubber band ligation and 0.018*0.025 square arch wire group,rubber band and 0.019*0.025 square arch wire group,wire ligation and 0.018 round arch wire group,wire ligation and 0.018*0.025 square arch wire group,wire ligation 0.019*0.025 square arch wire group,and each group had 5 brackets.The CETR UMT multi-functional friction wear machine was used to measure the friction resistance of each group.Using the GLM process of the SAS9.21 analysis software,a multivariate analysis of variance was performed on the experimental results,and the LSMEANS procedure was used to compare the variance analysis.Results:(1)The friction between the new zirconia brackets and the archwires of three different sizes was significantly lower than that between the ceramic brackets and the three archwires in the dry environment when using the rubber band ligation and ligating wire ligation.The frictional resistance,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05 or P<0.01);the friction between the new zirconia bracket and metal bracket and metal self-locking showed a tendency to increase under three different sizes of archwire,but there was no statistical difference(P>0.05).(2)In the artificial saliva environment,there was no significant difference in the friction between zirconia brackets and ceramic brackets in combination with ligation of ligation wire and 0.0119*0.025 arch wire,which was significantly different from metal brackets(P< 0.05);The friction force of other combined zirconia brackets is smaller than that of ceramic brackets,and the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05 or P<0.01),and there is no significant difference between the friction force of the two metal brackets(P>0.05).Results:(1)The friction force of the novel zirconia brackets in the artificial saliva environment is lower than that in the dry environment.In the dry environment and artificial saliva environment,when the new zirconia brackets are combined with three different archwires,the ligating wire ligation has lower frictional resistance than the rubber band ligation;the new zirconia bracket is under the ligating wire ligation The frictional resistance combined with 0.018 round wire is lower than that of the other two archwires.The optimal combination of zirconia for orthodontic treatment was optimized to be an artificial saliva environment.The ligatures were ligated and the archwire was 0.018 round wire.(1)The friction force of new zirconia brackets in artificial saliva environments is lower than that in dry environments.In the dry environment and artificial saliva environment,when the new zirconia brackets are combined with three different archwires,the ligating wire ligation has lower frictional resistance than the rubber band ligation;under the ligating wire ligation,the frictional resistance of new zirconia bracket combined with 0.018 round wired is lower than that of the other two archwires.The optimal combination of zirconia for orthodontic treatment was optimized to be an artificial saliva environment,the ligatures were ligated and the archwire was 0.018 round wired.(2)In the dry environment and artificial saliva environment,the friction resistance between the new zirconia bracket and the three different archwires is significantly lower than the ceramic bracket,and with the 3M metal bracket and metal self-locking bracket the frictional resistance is not much different.The new type of zirconia bracket is not only solves the shortcomings of high frictional resistance of ceramic brackets,but also makes up for the shortcomings of unsightly metal brackets and greatly meets the clinical needs.It is a new type of practical and corrective brackets that are worthy of extensive clinical use.
