PURPOSE:This study used LH titanium-nickle wire and traditional arch wire sequence as clinical control to make treatment on different types of malocclusions with extraction or without extraction of tooth, based on clinical orthodontic time with fixed appliance before and after the clinical practice as the base to observe and compare the clinical efficacy,to learn much more about the control points of LH titanium-nickle wire and provide the basis for improving appliance efficiency with the use of this wire.METHODS:87 cases were randomly selected from the Stomatology Hospital of Shandong University. Class I malocclusion cases:35 (Tooth extraction orthodontics:16;No tooth extraction orthodontics:19);ClassⅡmalocclusion cases:35(Tooth extraction orthodontics:17,No tooth extraction orthodontics:18); ClassⅢmalocclusion cases:17 (Tooth extraction orthodontics:8,No tooth extraction orthodontics:9).The range from Pre-treatment age to Post-treatment age was 16 to 35 years. Various types of malocclusion deformity were randomly selected for LH titanium-nickle wire or traditional arch wire sequence.patients'clinical orthodontic time with fixed appliance before and after the clinical practice were used as bases to measure the orthodontic efficiency of LH titanium-nickle wire,the brackets used in this research were TOMY self-ligation brackets.RESULTS:①The orthodontic practice of LH titanium-nickle wire could shorten and simplify the orthodontic course of Class I malocclusions(No extraction: 8.98±2.57M;Extraction:10.34±2.01M),promotes tooth move fast(P<0.05),compared with traditional arch wire sequence(No extraction:12.5±2.84M;Extraction: 13.26±2.63M),whether Extraction or No-extraction.②The orthodontic practice of LH titanium-nickle wire could shorten and simplify the orthodontic course of ClassⅢmalocclusions(No extraction: 4.34±1.96M;Extraction:16.44±2.33M),promotes tooth move fast(P<0.05),compared with traditional arch wire sequence(No extraction:19.47±2.59M;Extraction:21.37±2.62M),whether Extraction or No-extraction.③The orthodontic practice LH titanium-nickle wire shows no obvious advantages in Class II malocclusion with the extraction tooth(P>0.05, No extraction:18.13±2.95M),compared with traditional arch wire sequences(No extraction:19.13±2.03M),however,it really shorten and simplify the orthodontic course of Class II malocclusion with extraction(P<0.05,LH titanium-nickle wire:15.12±1.92M; traditional arch wire sequences:19.13±2.03M).CONCLUSION:LH titanium-nickle wire as an improved super-elastic nickel titanium arch wire, its unique low-load, shock absorption, thermal stability, as well as easily bended,etc. mechanical properties, could provide a new choice for orthodontic correcting, basically meets the doctors'requirements for the orthodontic arch wire. In this clinical study showing that the majority of malocclusion deformity were corrected more rapidly by the use of LH titanium nickel wire than using traditional arch wire sequence. However, for different types of deformities, the dentition control treatment at different stages were different.
