| Purpose:1.Compile the Questionnaire on the Status Quo of Humanistic Care Teaching in Nursing Courses to provide a scientific and reliable evaluation tool for nursing colleges and experts to understand the status quo of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses.2.To evaluate the current situation of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses in China and accurately find out the existing and underground problems in the process,explore the influencing factors,analyze the subjective and objective reasons,and put forward systematic and scientific suggestions,to provide theoretical basis and practical reference for promoting the advancement and deepening of nursing humanistic care education and teaching,improving nursing students’ caring consciousness and enhancing their caring ability.Methods:Relevant literature was retrieved for reading and analysis to accurately find out the key points of caring teaching and summarize and integrate the results,which provided a theoretical basis for the design and formulation of the questionnaire item pool in this study.The semi-structured interview method was adopted to conduct in-depth interviews with 10 nursing teachers and 12 nursing students.Based on Noddings’ theory of caring education,combined with literature analysis and qualitative interview results,the questionnaire entry pool was preliminarily formulated and the framework was formed after group discussion,and then the first draft of the questionnaire was determined after two rounds of expert consultation.A preliminary survey was carried out among 315 nursing students majoring in 4universities in 3 provinces,and 30 respondents were selected for repeated measurement after an interval of 2 weeks.According to the survey results,the questionnaire was modified,improved and the final questionnaire was determined.A total of 987 nursing students from 23 colleges in China were selected by convenience sampling method from October to November,2020 to evaluate the current situation of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses.SPSS20.0 software was used for statistical analysis,and the count data were expressed as frequency,standard deviation and percentage.Independent sample t test and variance analysis were used to compare the measurement data.Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the relationship between the teaching level of humanistic care in nursing courses and students’ caring ability.Results:1.Delphi expert consultation and preliminary survey results After two rounds of expert consultation,the first draft of the questionnaire on the status quo of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses was determined,including seven dimensions,including teaching environment,teachers’ teaching ability,teachers’ caring behavior,teaching content,teaching method,assessment and evaluation,and students’ learning effect.There are 57 items in total,including 8 items of teaching environment,9items of teachers’ teaching ability,14 items of teachers’ caring behavior,9 items of teaching content,6 items of teaching method,6 items of assessment and evaluation,and 5 items of students’ learning effect.The positivities of experts in the first round and the second round of consultation were85% and 100%,respectively,and their authority coefficients were both 0.89.The ScaleContent Validity Index(S-CVI)of the questionnaire was 0.939,and the Item-Content Validity Index(I-CVI)of the questionnaire ranged from 0.833 to 1.000.The preliminary survey results showed that the overall Cronbach’s alpha and the splithalf reliability of the questionnaire were 0.972 and 0.894,respectively.The Cronbach’s alpha and the split-half reliability of the five dimensions were 0.831~0.959 and 0.768~0.917,respectively.The test-retest reliability of the questionnaire was 0.950,and the test-retest reliability of the five factors ranged from 0.843 to 0.954.2.Results of the current situation of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses Among the nursing students,121(12.26%)were males and 866(87.74%)were females.Aged 19~24(20.01±0.88)years;571(57.85%)in the class of 2017 and 416(42.15%)in the class of 2018;86(8.71%)students were Party members;278(28.17%)of the students registered permanent residence in urban areas;268 were onlies(27.15%);320 students(32.42%)served as class cadres.The total score and the score of each dimension of the current situation of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses: the average score of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses was(157.35± 22.46),and the scoring index was 80.69%.The average score of teaching environment,teachers’ teaching ability,teachers’ caring behavior,teaching design and evaluation were(19.24 + 3.28),(33.50-4.80),(27.79-4.82),(62.18-8.89),(14.64-3.16)points,respectively,and the scoring index were 76.96%,83.75%,79.40%,82.91%,73.20%,respectively.The total score and each dimension’s scoring index ranged from 60% to 85%,which were in the medium level.The results of independent samples t test and analysis of variance showed that gender,political affiliation,school level,grade,whether as a class cadre,whether often take part in group activities,whether nursing major is the first choice,whether willing to engage in nursing industry after graduation,the degree of father’s attentiveness,the degree of mother’s attentiveness,the degree of school teachers’ attentiveness,the degree of clinical teachers’ attentiveness,the degree of classmates’ attentiveness,these 13 factors were the influencing factors of the score of the present situation of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses.Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that the total score of the current situation of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses = 76.303 + 4.892 × gender-3.290× school level + 7.582 × grade + 5.750 × degree of willingness to engage in nursing in the future-1.873 × how much your father cares about you + 2.441 × how much your mother cares about you + 5.535 × how much your school teachers care about you + 3.219 × how much your clinical teachers care about you + 3.823 × how much your schoolmates care about you.Pearson correlation analysis showed that the Pearson correlation coefficient between the total score of the current situation of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses evaluated by students and the total score of their humanistic care ability was 0.624(> 0.4),which showed a positive correlation between the two.Conclusions:1.The self-prepared questionnaire has good reliability and validity and can be used to evaluate the current situation of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses.2.The score index of totality and each dimension of the current situation of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses are all at 60%~85%,which are at medium level,indicating that humanistic care teaching practice in nursing courses needs to be further strengthened.3.In the process of humanistic care education in the future,teachers should encourage students to abandon traditional concepts and actively participate in classroom teaching and extracurricular practice so as to devote themselves to the nursing industry firmly in the future.The relationship between nursing students and their parents,teachers and classmates can be taken as the starting point to explore teaching strategies to improve their caring awareness and ability.4.The Pearson correlation coefficient between the total score of humanistic care teaching in nursing courses evaluated by students and the score of their humanistic care ability is0.624(> 0.4),which shows a positive correlation between the two.Caring teaching can promote the cultivation of nursing students’ caring awareness and caring ability. |
