Objective:Postoperative nausea and vomiting after general anesthesia has always been one of the common complications that jeopardize the physical and mental health of surgical patients. The incidence of PONV after endoscopic esophagectomy has been persistently high.Through observing the effect of auricular acupressure patch on controlling nausea and vomiting after esophagectomy for esophageal cancer,we explore its mechanism for controlling postoperative nausea and vomiting, and verify its feasibility in controlling nausea and vomiting after endoscopic esophagectomy for esophageal cancer. To find ways to reduce the incidence of PONV after endoscopic esophagectomy for esophageal cancer. Methods:A total of 130 consecutive consecutive patients who underwent endoscopic radical esophagectomy for oesophageal cancer at the extrathoracic Department of Handan centre hospital were selected and randomly divided into three groups:In the auricular point pressing group,44 patients(the seed of cowherb on auricular points)were applied with auricular point(acupoints:Shenmen, stomach, liver, spleen)pressing by the same doctor one day before operation and pressed intermittently until 48 hours after operation. In the placebo group,43 patients adhered to the same position according to the operation method of auricular acupressure patch group(nonstick on acupoints),but did not press. The blank control group was routinely treated with 43 cases. The nausea and vomiting of the three groups were observed for 0-12 h,12-24 h,24-48 h postoperatively, and the degree of nausea and vomiting was scored using a visual analogue scale, and the pain VAS for 24 h postoperatively, and the Likert scale was used to observe overall satisfaction with the nausea and vomiting of the group and to see if any adverse effects occurred.SPSS 23.0 software was used for statistical analysis of all data results, and P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.Result:1.During 0-12 h,12-24 h and 24-48 h,the incidence of PONV and the degree of nausea and vomiting in the auricular acupressure group were lower than those in the placebo group and the control group(P <0.05).2.Pain VAS scores and auricular acupressure at 24 h after surgery were significantly lower in the auricular acupressure group than in the placebo and control groups(P < 0.05).3.Patients’ overall satisfaction with PONV control after surgery was higher in the auricular acupressure group than in the placebo and control groups(P < 0.05).Conclusions:Auricular acupressure can effectively prevent the occurrence of PONV and reduce the severity of already occurring PONV within 48 h after endoscopic esophagectomy, reduce postoperative pain VAS scores within 24 h after surgery, and improve patients’ overall satisfaction with the prevention and treatment of postoperative nausea and vomiting..Auricular acupressure is a well-established treatment for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting after endoscopic esophagectomy, and it is worth promoting. |
