| Cultivated land provides goods and services needed for human production and life,which is the lifeblood of ensuring national food security.The phenomena of cultivated land abandonment and quality degradation occur because of the limitations of the level of human knowledge about the functions of cultivated land.Grasping the various functions of cultivated land is of great significance to the rational use and development of cultivated land and to ensure social stability,sustainable economic development and national security.Based on the existing achievements,basic theories and the current situation in Hubei Province,this study selects statistical data and land use image data in 2005,2010,2015 and 2018 to construct a multifunctional indicator evaluation system for cultivated land in Hubei Province,which includes five subsystems: material production,economic contribution,social security,ecological regulation and landscape aesthetics.The initial data were processed using the standardized method of extreme differences,the entropy method to calculate the index weights,the comprehensive evaluation method to measure the single function index and the total function index of cultivated land,and to analyze the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics of multifunctional cultivated land in Hubei Province.The initial data were processed using the standardized method of extreme differences,the entropy method to calculate the index weights,the comprehensive evaluation method to measure the single function index and the total function index of cultivated land,and to analyze the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics of multifunctional arable land in each city and state.The horizontal comparison method was used to identify the dominant functions of cropland in each city and state in Hubei Province,and an obstacle degree model was introduced to diagnose the that hinder the multi-functionality of cultivated land in Hubei Province.（1）From 2005 to 2018,the multifunctional index of cultivated land in 16 cities and prefectures of Hubei Province showed a relatively stable trend on the whole.The material production function of cultivated land is mainly in the middle level and weaker level,showing high in the north,low in the south,high in the East and low in the West.The economic contribution function of cultivated land is mainly in the middle level and weaker level,which is higher in the northeast and southwest,and lower in the northwest and central.The social security function of cultivated land is mainly in the middle level and stronger level,which is high in the middle and low in the East and West.The overall level of cultivated land ecological regulation function is the best of the five sub functions,mainly the strongest level and stronger level,showing high in the East and low in the West.There are little regional differences in the aesthetic function of cultivated land landscape,mainly in the middle level and weak level.（2）From 2005 to 2018,the number of ecological regulation functions accounted for the largest proportion in the leading functions of cultivated land in Hubei Province,and the region dominated by a single function of ecological regulation was mainly located in the middle and east of Hubei Province.The dominant function of arable land in Hubei Province has evolved from a single function to a multifunctional coexistence situation.（3）From 2005 to 2018,the obstacle factors in most areas of Hubei Province were relatively stable.The social security function of cultivated land in economically developed areas is greatly hindered.The landscape aesthetic function of mountainous and hilly areas in the province is greatly affected.The obstacle factors in plain Lake area show the characteristics of diversity.Based on the results of the analysis of obstacle factors,countermeasures are made to better realize the optimal management of cultivated land functions in Hubei Province. |
