Comparison Of Digestive Performance,Growth Performance And Rumen Fermentation Of Quiet And Excited Hu Sheep | | Posted on:2022-12-26 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:J Y Mao | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2493306614968829 | Subject:Business Administration | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | This experiment was conducted to compare the growth performance,production performance,rumen fermentation parameters,rumen epithelial tissue morphology,meat quality and body health performance of Hu Sheep with different temperament.Fifty five-month-old Hu Sheep with similar body weight were selected for the experiment.They were divided into two groups,namely quiet sheep and excited sheep,by Pen Score method,with 12 Hu Sheep in total and 6 in each group.The basic feed formula was formulated according to NRC of sheep(2007)of USA.The experiment lasted for 60 days,and the pre-experiment lasted for 7 days.The test results are as follows:Experiment 1:Differences of nutrient apparent digestibility and production performance between quiet and excited Hu SheepIn this part of the experiment,the differences of feeding behavior,growth performance,apparent digestibility,slaughter performance and organ index of quiet and excited Hu Sheep were compared.The results showed that:(1)There were no significant differences in sleep duration,rumination duration and chewing duration between the two temperamental Hu Sheep(P>0.05),but the feeding duration of quiet Hu Sheep was significantly higher than that of excited Hu Sheep(P<0.05).(2)There were no significant differences in average daily gain,dry matter intake and crude protein digestibility between the two temperaments Hu Sheep(P>0.05);The dry matter digestibility of quiet Hu Sheep was significantly higher than that of excited Hu Sheep(P<0.05).(3)The slaughter rate of quiet Hu Sheep was significantly higher than that of excited Hu Sheep(P<0.05).(4)There were no significant differences in indexes of heart,liver,spleen,lung and kidney among all groups(P>0.05).Experiment 2:The differences of rumen fermentation parameters and rumen epithelial tissue morphology between quiet and excited Hu SheepThis part of the test to compare the Hu Sheep quiet and excited in the rumen fermentation parameters,stomachus compositus development and organizational structure differences,the results show that:(1)the quiet Hu Sheep rumen VFA,isoamyl propionate acid and valeric acid content and ratio of valeric acid significantly below excited Hu Sheep(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between other indicators(P>0.05).(2)There was no significant difference in the compound stomach development between quiet and excited Hu Sheep,but the thickness of rumen epithelial cuticle of quiet Hu Sheep was significantly lower than that of excited Hu Sheep,while the thickness of basal layer and the width of rumen papilla of quiet Hu Sheep were significantly higher than that of excited Hu Sheep(P<0.05).Experiment 3:Comparison of muscle quality and body health performance between quiet and excited Hu SheepThis part of the experiment compared the differences of muscle quality,serum antioxidant,proinflammatory factor concentration and liver and kidney function between the two temperament Hu Sheep.The results showed that:(1)there were no significant differences in eye muscle area,water loss rate,shear force,pH45min,brightness value and yellowness value between two groups(P>0.05).The values of pH24h and redness of muscle of quiet Hu Sheep were significantly higher than those of exicted type Hu Sheep(P<0.05).(2)There were no significant differences in ALP,LDH,CREA and BUN between the two groups(P>0.05).(3)The levels of IL-1β and TNF-α in serum of quiet Hu Sheep were significantly lower than those of excited Hu Sheep,but there was no significant difference in the concentration of IL-6.(4)There was no significant change in MDA concentration in blood of Hu Sheep in the two groups,but SOD,GSH-Px and T-AOC concentrations in serum of quiet Hu Sheep were significantly higher than those of excited Hu Sheep.To sum up,compared with excited Hu Sheep,quiet Hu Sheep has longer feeding time,better dry matter digestibility and meat quality,and better antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capacity. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Temperament, Growth performance, Serum biochemistry, Meat quality, Rumen fermentation | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
