Effects Of La3+ And Ca2+ On The Germination And Antioxidant System Of The Seeds Of Allium Sorghum L. At Different Storage Years

The seeds stored for 1,3 and 5 years were soaked with La3+and Ca2+and three calcium ion inhibitors RR(ruthenium red),Al Cl3and EGTA(ethylene glycol(2-aminoethyl ether)tetraacetic acid).The germination characteristics and antioxidant system of the seeds were determined.The seeds were stored for 1,3 and 5 years.The main results are as follows:(1)Germination potential,germination rate,germination index,vigor index and other germination indexes of Allium sargassum seeds all showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing with the increase of storage years.The germination rate of the seeds stored for 3 years can reach 88%.The seed germination rate decreased to about 60%after storage for five years.Both La3+and Ca2+treatments could improve the germination indexes of the seeds in different storage years,but the differences were not significant.La3+treatment could increase the seed germination rate to 96%.After calcium ion inhibitor treatment,the germination potential,germination rate,germination index,vigor index and other germination indexes were decreased compared with CK.After calcium ion inhibitor treatment,adding La3+and Ca2+increased the germination index of the seeds compared with calcium ion inhibitor treatment alone.The results showed that La3+and Ca2+could enhance seed vigor.(2)Storage years had a significant effect on antioxidant enzyme activity of the seeds.With the increase of storage years,the activities of SOD and POD showed a trend of decreasing first and then increasing,while the activities of APX and CAT showed a trend of decreasing gradually.After La3+and Ca2+treatment,the activities of SOD,POD,CAT and APX were higher than those of CK.The activities of SOD,POD and CAT in the seeds treated with calcium ion inhibitor were inhibited to a certain extent.The activities of SOD,POD and CAT in the seeds treated with calcium ion inhibitor combined with La3+and Ca2+increased compared with that treated with calcium ion inhibitor alone.Calcium ion inhibitor treatment,calcium ion inhibitor and La3+and Ca2+cross treatment had no significant effect on APX activity.La3+and Ca2+could increase the activity of antioxidant enzymes and enhance seed resistance.(3)The MDA and O2·-production rates of seeds with different storage years were different.There was a positive correlation between MDA content and storage years.With the increase of storage years,the production rate of O2·-in the seeds of Agaricum albifera firstly increased and then decreased.The MDA content and O2·-production rate of the seeds treated with La3+and Ca2+decreased compared with CK.The content of MDA and the production rate of O2·-were increased to some extent after the seeds were treated with calcium ion inhibitor.However,the MDA content and O2·-production rate of the seeds cross-treated with calcium ion inhibitor and La3+and Ca2+decreased compared with those treated with calcium ion inhibitor.La3+and Ca2+could inhibit the accumulation of harmful substances in different storage years.
