With the increasing market demand for lamb meat and the rapid development of Xinjiang’s sheep industry, the improvement and development of multi-fetal sheep with high reproductive performance has become the goal of the modern sheep industry.Among them, due to improper feeding and management, lack of feeding experience, and low treatment level, and many diseases occur during sheep breeding. In particular,Pregnancy toxemia of sheep has become one of the major diseases after sheep introduction, and it has been significantly increased.Bring serious economic losses to the livestock industry.Chinese herbal medicine have significant health and fetal protection effects, and have less damage to pregnant women and have long-lasting curative effects. The use of Chinese herbal medicine for health and fetal care is very helpful in the process of sheep improvement. The use of Chinese herbal medicine in sheep improvement is the most comprehensive aims. Methods: 1 Healthy mice were fed with decoction of Chinese herbal medicine, and the body weight, organ index, physiological and biochemical indexes, liver and kidney histological examinations were evaluated, and the toxicity of Chinese herbal formulas on mice was evaluated.2 Collection of healthy mouse feces and gavage of healthy mouse excrement with Chinese herbal medicine,high-throughput sequencing, analysis of alpha diversity index(Chao1 and Shannon index)and beta diversity index,to evaluate the effect of Chinese herbal medicine on intestinal microbial flora in mice.3 Early-pregnancy,mid-pregnancy,late-pregnancy and full-course ewes were fed with Chinese herbal medicine powder, and the incidence of ewes during pregnancy and the birth weight of lambs were recorded. The blood before and after the course of treatment was physiological and biochemical. The detection of cytokines explored the effects of Chinese herbal medicine in sheep health care and the growth and development of lambs. Results: 1 The body weight of the mice before and after treatment wassignificantly increased(P <0.05).It was proved that the body mass of the mice could be significantly increased;the liver index and spleen index were significantly increased(P <0.01);Blood urea nitrogen and creatinine were significantly decreased(P <0.05).It was proved that the Chinese herbal medicine has a significant promoting effect on protein metabolism and can significantly improve the body’s immunity and kidney function. No pathological changes were found in the liver and kidney. It was confirmed that the Chinese herbal medicine had no toxic side effects on mice.2Twenty-four feces samples of 24 mice were sequenced and a total of 153,734 effective sequences were obtained,1482 operating units(OTUs)were obtained.Bacteroidetes increased and Proteobacteria decreased significantly(P <0.05).The Chinese herbal medicine changed the structure of the mouse’s intestinal microflora, but the composition remained unchanged.3 The incidence of ewes during pregnancy:Different pregnancy ewes in the control group had a miscarriage and sheep gestational toxemia, but the ewes did not appear during the different gestational ages after treatment, confirming that the Chinese herbal medicine to the ewes during pregnancy The effect of health care and fetal protection is significant.Lamb birth weight: The initial birth weight of lambs in the late pregnancy group and the full-course group increased significantly(P <0.05).Compared with the early pregnancy group, the birth weight of the lambs in the late pregnancy group increased significantly(P <0.05),and the birth weight of the lambs in the whole group was significantly increased.Significantly increased(P <0.01),demonstrating that the Chinese herbal medicine can increase the lamb’s initial weight.Although physiological and biochemical indicators have changed but are within the normal range, the Chinese herbal additive is not toxic to pregnant sheep. In terms of cytokines, there was no significant change in TNF-αand IGF-I.Conclusion: To study the toxicity of Chinese herbal medicine and its effects on sheep health and the growth and development of lambs, and to provide a scientific basis for the application and promotion of the Chinese herbal medicine in clinical practice.
