| 1. Serological investigation of PRRSV and PRV in farmsSerological investigation for PRRSV and PRV was conducted on large scale pig farms from Hunan. The results showed that antibody level for PRRSV varied from 0 to 4.0 (by S/P).16 farms with 100% positive rate of PRRSV antibody was found, and 2 farms with 100% negative rate of PRRSV antibody was found among 57 farms; The wild pseudo-rabies antibody were detected in seurm from 19 farms. antibody positive rate for PRV reached to 40%. Research on prevention and control of the PRRSV, PRV and other diseases is still important.2. The effect of bioactive padding on disease control and prevention40 nursing pigs were chosen and immunized with PRRSV or PRV vaccines. Effect of bioactive padding on the production of antibody was assessed. The amount of bacteria in the air was also compared between bioactive padding floored and cement floored nursing house. The result showed although bioactive padding had no influence on antibody production, it improved the bio-environment of the nursing house, which can help the control and prevention of pig diseases.3. Research on the PRV immunization procedure of pig farms using bioactive paddingImproved immunization procedure of PRV was conducted, three-time immunization conducted in January, May and September showed the better effect for breeding pigs. And two time immunization on nursing pigs of 50-day and 100-day old elicited enhanced PRV antibody level in the fattening stage. |
