The space environment of farmers’ markets are polarized at present,and many of them follow the same pattern of modern design after transforming.Studied by some scholars and designers,they proposed to break the homogenization situation with region culture.As a part of urban space,the farmers’ markets sell the freshest raw materials for local food and epitomize the local diet culture.Therefore,from my point of view,extracting elements from region culture and applying them in the transformation of farmers’ markets can effectively improve the indoor and outdoor space environment as well as the sense of belonging of the city.So Huzhou Xinhua farmers’ market is selected as the object of transformation for research.First of all,the author used the literature research method to know the regional culture of the Huzhou area.After extensive research,this paper chooses to expound on poetry,calligraphy and painting,ship culture,and dietetic culture.The author also visited the space with regional culture in Huzhou,and thought about the relationship between the regional culture and urban space.Afterwards,the author used the field investigation method to conduct a field investigation on the farmers’ market that has been renovated in China.For specific cases,analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of the design,summarized the principles and main points of the design,and summarize the materials used in the design of the farmers’ market.And gave affirmation to the way of classification in the early stage,and focused on farmers’ market transformation on the basis of design principles and key points which is the theme regionalization,market branding,business diversification,rationalization of the layout and the younger decoration.Finally,the author surveyed and mapped the Huzhou Xinhua Farmers’ Market,analyzed the shortcomings of indoor and outdoor of the Xinhua Farmers’ Market,and then collected data and transformation opinions from various groups of people through the questionnaire survey.Relying on the prior arrangement of the regional culture of Huzhou,it was transformed into relevant design elements and integrated into the final design scheme.After extracting and transforming Huzhou region culture into design elements,the design elements are combined with modern "internet famous" decorative materials and integrated into the transformation of Xinhua farmers’ market.The final indoor and outdoor space of Xinhua market is in line with the current aesthetics of young people and suitable for young consumers to go shopping.Different from other commercial spaces,the farmers’ markets have the characteristics of daily life.It is a place that anyone can be contact with.Taking the farmers’ markets as the link of region culture can make the people more closely combined with life,and can enhance the identity of region culture effectively.Therefore,region culture can provide the theme for farmers’ markets,and farmers’ markets can be used as the carrier of region culture.There is an interactive relationship between them.The use of region cultural elements in the indoor and outdoor space of the farmers’markets can effectively improve the quality of the farmers’ markets.
