With the rapid development of economic globalization,more and more companies search the resources on a global scale,to inquire the products or services for higher quality and more reasonable prices,especially from the low-cost regions.Economic globalization increases the possibility for companies to survive and develop in the rapidly changing world.Procurement is an important part of the supply chain,and it has been one of companies’strategies.The order management runs through the entire procurement process and is an integral part of procurement.The value flow,service flow,information flow and capital flow are transmitted in the order management process.The agile and efficient order management process is the premise to ensure the smooth operation of order management,and it also plays a vital role in improving customers’satisfaction and increasing the competitiveness of companies.In the globalized supply chain environment,the optimization and reengineering of the order management process can not only improve the quality and efficiency of order fulfillment,decrease the order production lead time,improve the on-time delivery rate,but also improve the operational efficiency of the company,and reduce the cost of company management,which will increase customers satisfaction and loyalty,enhance customer value,and help shareholders improve profits.Company T is the world leader in serving science and implements the global sourcing strategy.Company T sets up the global sourcing center in China at the beginning of the 21stcentury,headquartered in Shanghai.China global sourcing center provides sourcing and supply chain services for its over 100 global manufacturing sites.This paper takes the company’s global sourcing order management process as the study object and analyzes based on the relevant theories of process optimization,with ASME and ESIA analysis method.By studying the current status of order management in China global sourcing center and analyzing the order receiving process,purchasing process and delivery process,we find that the issues of long order processing cycle,the poor visibility of the order status,the inflexible inventory,the complicated shipping process,and unclear responsibility for short shipments,and then propose the process optimization based on the findings.The optimization proposal is to find a more agile and efficient global sourcing order management process to shorten the order processing time,reduce the complexity of order processing,improve the backlogs on-time delivery rate,automate the sales and purchase order creating process,and reduce the waste time in the process.In order to meet the request of response to customers in time,China global sourcing center will supply the raw materials and products to its global manufacturing sites at the right time,with reasonable prices,accurate quantities and best quality.By setting an e-platform for order management,the global manufacturing sites,China global sourcing center and China suppliers will share the status of production,quality,service,inventory,delivery schedule and other information in a timely manner,which will increase the flexibility of the supply chain,reduce supply chain operating costs,and improve the speed of order circulation and inventory turnover.It will take benefits to better optimize the rational allocation and utilization of resources to improve the order management operational efficiency of China global sourcing center.The optimized order management process will have positive significance for the cost control,suppliers structure optimization,materials management and customers’satisfaction improvement.
