China’s economy has entered the stage of high-quality development,which puts forward new requirements for the airline economy to reduce speed and improve quality.However,driven by taking over the industries from the east,several cities in central and western China have adopted preferential policies to develop airline economy.This may push the development of the airline economy into a game between regions and raise the issue of convergent and preferential competition.Starting from the inherent controversy of aviation economic preferential system,this paper first uses the center-periphery model to verify the important role of aviation industry in inland cities,then introduces preferential factors into the oligopoly model,and develops the incomplete information Cournot hybrid oligopoly model,in an attempt to reveal the causes of aviation preferential phenomenon from the theoretical level.After that,78 airports in mainland China are empirically studied using spatial Durbin model and synthetic control method,and the robustness test of 138 airports is carried out.Finally,the influence mechanism of preferential policies is explored with the moderating effects.It is found that the spatial effect of cargo throughput at airports in central and western China is negative,while preferential policies increased the cargo throughput.But with the improvement of human capital industrial structure and foreign investment,preferential policies become difficult to work;The results indicate that there exists fierce competition among airports in central and western China.Although increased cargo throughput hinders economy,local governments keep increasing economic preferential policies in order to form a favorable position,resulting in a subsequent round of competition.Preferential policies have intensified the competition for cargo volume in Chinese central and western aviation hubs,leading to a trend of vicious competition in the aviation economy.It can be seen that the development of aviation economy in central and western China has been inclined to regional game,and the negative impact of preferential treatment on the economy has gradually emerged.To this end,this paper proposes optimized policies in terms of improving the economic tournament system,unifying oil prices,forming a regional consultation system,and differentiating subsidy priorities.The conclusion of this paper has a certain enlightenment significance to optimize the environment of aviation economic development and speed up the high-quality development of Chinese economy. |
