In today’s highly developed material civilization and science and technology,people not only pay attention to the appearance and function of the product,but also pay attention to the inner taste and cultural connotation of the product.Therefore,from the perspective of empathy,increasing the emotional value of products is not only a requirement for improving product user experience,but also an inevitable requirement for product form design innovation.Sort out the related theories of empathy and product form design,discuss the essence and characteristics of empathy,and explain the two stages of empathy to and empathy in;Analyze the constituent elements and characteristics of the product form,and carry out the empathy necessity and feasibility analysis of the product form design;Combining the natural and emotional attributes of each element,the five characteristics of product form design are derived: functionality,creativity,duality,interest and comprehensiveness;Through the combination of empathy and product form design,three core elements of "shape","emotion" and "state" are extracted,and on this basis,three levels of product form design including cultural layer,thinking layer and modeling layer are constructed;From the perspective of empathy theory,through in-depth research on product form design,four design principles of in-depth,continuity,complementarity and integration are put forward,as well as empathy to things,empathy to situations,empathy to others and Four design methods of empathy to things.Combining the three levels of product form design,forecasts and prospects for the development trend of product form creative design.The empathy theory is applied to the creative design of product form,which enhances the emotional expression of the product,enriches the spiritual connotation of the product,and innovates the design thinking of the product,which is of great significance to the development of product design.
