There are many categories of train and levels of train speed on mixed passenger and freight railway,which will inevitably increase the difficulty of daily operation organization of railway,thus resulting in the waste of railway capacity and resources and the decline of transportation service quality and efficiency of railway.It is an important prerequisite of solving the above problems to study speed matching of mixed passenger and freight railway,therefore,it is necessary to make a research on speed matching of passenger and freight trains.In the past,most scholars mainly studied speed matching from the perspective of operation organization of railway,without considering perspective of economy.In fact,train speed affects railway fixed asset investment,transport cost,passenger and freight transportation income,social benefit and so on,and the ultimate goal of operation organization of railway can be understood as acquiring the maximum benefit with minimum cost as far as possible,in addition,railway is a livelihood project in our country,so it is going to study speed matching from the perspective of railway national economy.Firstly,three hot issues closely related to speed matching of mixed passenger and freight railway was discussed and analyzed,which provided a powerful reference for knowing specifically the current situation and trend of development of mixed passenger and freight railway in our country and laid a solid foundation for studying the main method,model and optimal scheme of speed matching of mixed passenger and freight railway in follow-up content.Secondly,on the basis of that main factors influence speed matching were further studied,from the perspective of national economic evaluation of railway construction project and with the cost-benefit analysis method,at first,the recognition of cost and benefit was carried on and the calculation model of cost and benefit was put forward.Then the project economic net present value(ENPV)maximized was made be optimization goal and the speed difference between passenger train and freight train related to railway carrying capacity was made be one of constraint conditions.Finally,the constrained nonlinear programming model about speed matching was constructed,and FMINCON function was put forward to solve the model.Thus,a way to study speed matching considering both organization of train operation factors and economic factors was formed.Finally,the speed matching model was applied to Xining-Chengdu mixed passenger and freight railway,then the optimal matching result of speed of passenger train and freight train was acquired and the actual running speed of every type of passenger train and freight train was recommended according to the analysises of optimal matching result,meanwhile,it was concluded that the model is effective and practical in the light of results of analysis.The effectiveness and practicality of model was successfully proved,which filled in the blank of studying speed matching of mixed passenger and freight railway from the perspective of national economy of railway construction project,and made a reference value for the scientific construction and operation of Xining-Chengdu mixed passenger and freight railway and the later research on speed matching of mixed passenger and freight railway.
