Research On Conversion Value Of Passenger Train To Annual Freight Volume Of Railway Operating Passenger And Freight Trains

With the rapid development of economy and the continuous improvement of people’s lives, demand for railway transportation is keeping increasing. In order to meet the need of economic development and the market economy country, the Ministry of railway proposed leaping development strategy, large scale expansion and reconstruction is carried out under the existing line, and passenger dedicated railway lines are constructing in the same time. That affects the conversion value of passenger train to annual freight. Under this background, the paper analyzes the annual freight volume of a pair of passenger trains to provide reference for the "Code for Design of Railway Line" revising.The paper calculates the conversion value of passenger train to annual freight volume mainly by analytical calculation to the coefficient of passenger trains removal and tonnage rating of freight trains.Firstly, through the analysis and research on the tonnage rating of freight trains, the tonnage rating of several freight trains is obtained under different ruling grade conditions. By comparing the actual and the theoretical traction weight of "CRH" type freight trains, the method to calculate tonnage rating using adhesion traction efforts is proposed.Secondly, through analyzing and studying the main factors affecting the coefficient of passenger train removal, the paper gets the method to calculate the coefficient of passenger train removal under different modes of organization of train operation, and proposes the change law of the coefficient of passenger train removal, which can provides a theoretical basis for the reasonable arrangement of traffic organization.Finally, the data of the tonnage rating of freight trains and the coefficient of passenger train removal is processed by applying randsample function in MATLAB, and then the conversion value of one passenger train to annual freight volume is calculated, which can provide quantitive basis for dividing the railway grade and determining the number of railway lines.In summary, the paper obtains the tonnage rating of several freight trains under different ruling grade conditions through the analysis and research on the tonnage rating of freight trains. The method to calculate the coefficient of passenger train removal under different modes of organization of train operation is analyzed and summarized. In the same time, the conversion value of one passenger train to annual freight volume is calculated by using randsample function.
