Study On Urban Regeneration Strategy In Perspective Of Culture Capital

While China’s urban construction began to enter the period of inventory planning,urban renewal has also shifted from extensive large-scale reconstruction to inventory regeneration focused on connotation and quality,and more and more attention is paid to the role played by culture during progress of urban regeneration in ancient town.Present regeneration practice is still at the level of preserving culture resources instead of advancing local culture capitalization and transformation efficiency.Therefore,this paper tries to construct an analytical framework between culture capital and urban regeneration in perspective of culture capital in order to discuss the driving mechanism of culture capital on urban regeneration.Practice of urban regeneration in Wuxuan ancient town is taken as an example in this paper to find several problems in the way of culture capital usage during current urban regeneration,and strategies of urban regeneration are put forward based on this.Firstly,this paper analyzes driving mechanism of culture capital on urban regeneration in three forms of culture capital,namely embodied culture capital,objective culture capital and institutionalized culture capital.After constructing the analytical framework between culture capital and urban regeneration,we can conclude that embodied culture capital is spiritual drive of regeneration,objective culture capital is material base of regeneration,and institutionalized culture capital is guarantee of regeneration.Secondly,after introducing current situation of Wuxuan ancient town and progress of urban regeneration in ancient town,it is found that urban regeneration faces several problems about making use of culture capital.On part of accumulation and multiplication of culture capital,its accumulation foundation is weak,external access is insufficient and stability guarantee is in absence.On part of transformation path,culture theme is vague,overall utilization is not good and culture place is deficient.Lastly,strategies of urban regeneration are put forward respectively from aspects of strengthening culture capital’s accumulation and multiplication,and promoting culture capital’s transformation efficiency in ancient town.It’s suggested that cultural activities be organized to strengthen accumulation of culture capital.Internal and external exchanges are encouraged to promote external access.Institution on culture conservation and public participation should be improved to ensure culture capital’s stability.Extract culture connotation and value deeply to highlight local special theme.Integrate narrative space to strengthen system integration of ancient town.Activate and make good use of space resource to rebuild culture space in ancient town.
