Research On The Design Strategy Of Pedestrian Safety Improvement In Urban Life Service Streets

The main function of urban street space has long been transformed from the function of urban traffic to the complex functional street with traffic as the main part and public activities as the auxiliary part.As the outdoor space that people often contact in daily life,the street bears the needs of displaying the city image and daily activities of residents.Life service street is the most abundant type of street,which has the closest connection with people.Its safety should be paid enough attention by street designers.This paper takes the pedestrian safety of life service street as the research object,and the ultimate goal is to explore the design strategy of pedestrian safety.This paper is mainly divided into five parts.The first part clarifies the main research direction of this paper by expounding relevant concepts such as urban public security,urban life service streets and evaluation.The second part studies relevant theories of street pedestrian safety at home and abroad,such as environmental psychology,human behavior characteristics in public space,etc.,to provide theoretical basis for the research content.The third part focuses on studying the street design guidelines of important cities at home and abroad,mainly including the street design guidelines of Shanghai,Shenzhen,New York,London and other cities.At the same time,it analyzes the type of people’s needs in the street,and takes this as the basis for the selection of various evaluation indicators of the evaluation system.The fourth part USES the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process and combines the opinions of street users with the mathematical statistics strategy to analyze and evaluate the status quo of the typical life service street,Huicheng East Road(old City section),which is screened out by the space syntax,and concludes the weak points in the street pedestrian safety of Huicheng East Road(old City section).In the fifth part,based on the further investigation on the streets of Huancheng East Road(old city section)and the evaluation results of pedestrian safety,the improvement measures for pedestrian safety of Huancheng East Road(old city section)are proposed.
