Research On The Sustainability And Design Practice Of The Traditional Elements Of The Dwellings Of Korean Ethnic Group In Northern Heilongjiang Province

In the northern area of Heilongjiang Province,there exist the Korean ethnic group’s villages,dwellings and traditional culture,which are the heritages of unique habitation culture of the Korean ethnic group.It is thus of great guiding significance for rural dwelling construction of the Korean ethnic group and new countryside development to carry forward excellent folk customs.With the increasingly deteriorating situation of the Korean ethnic group population outflow in the rural area of northern Heilongjiang Province,the contradiction between the existing old dwellings and the living population has become increasingly prominent.Especially notable is the cultural discontinuity of Korean ethnic group caused by unorganized demolition of old dwellings and rebuilding modern style apartments.Extracting and redesign of traditional elements of Korean ethnic group’s dwellings in this area not only provide effective case studies and research foundations for residential apartment’s reconstruction,but also helps build dwellings with characteristic styles.The first part of the paper mainly introduces the current situation of relevant research and the country’s endeavor in countryside rejuvenation.The focus of the second part falls on the history and development of the Korean ethnic group’s dwellings in northern Heilongjiang,with a supplementary description and records of the habitation culture of both Manchu ethnic group and Han group.In the third part,the paper in the first place analyzes the space structure of existing Korean ethnic group’s dwellings in a comprehensive manner.Secondly,it summarizes the plane elements,space elements,behavior factors,cultural elements,as well as the building structure,internal space layout and production and living habits.Finally,a conclusion has been made about the continuance and evolution of traditional elements of Korean ethnic group’s dwellings in northern Heilongjiang.In the fourth part,with the case study on the problems found in the dwellings of Dongtai Village and its surrounding areas,the analysis on the continuance and evolutions of traditional elements has been applied to practical designs.Last but not least,with the philosophy of “applying the academic achievement to where it comes from”,this paper aims to promote the countryside folk culture rejuvenation.In design practice,space structure features of traditional dwellings have been retained to its maximum and in its modern needs design;it has tried to prevent the loss of local habitation culture caused by excessive similarities of reconstruction projects of ethnic group villages.It is of great significance to protect the local Korean ethnic group traditional habitation culture,and improve the living quality of the Korean ethnic group rural residents in northern Heilongjiang while protecting the historical culture.
