With the continuous acceleration of our country’s economy and urbanization,the size and population density of various cities are also increasing.Especially in the central cities in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River,the main economic center of the city develops along the main passages on both sides of the river.The city along the river is undergoing radical changes and the block morphology is becoming denser and more complex.Previous studies have shown that the thermal environment is clearly related to the block morphology.In the riverside area,the distribution characteristics of the thermal environment of the blocks are different from that of the inland blocks due to the effect of the river wind.The urban space on both sides of the Yangtze River can use the characteristics of the river wind to alleviate the urban heat island and improve the thermal environment.This article starts with the typical form of the actual riverside blocks in Hankou,Wuhan.A number of riverside residential blocks are selected as the research samples.From the perspective of typo-morphology,combined with the clustering calculation theory in statistics,various morphological data of sample residential areas are extracted.And according to the typical morphological data,seven typical riverside residential models are extracted.Combined with the surface temperature calculation and thermal comfort calculation functions of the LADYBUG plug-in in the GRASSHOPPER platform,the wind environment and air temperature in the block are simulated through CFD.The quantitative index WPR(Wind Penetration Rate)is used to evaluate the penetration capacity of the river wind.The air temperature(Ta),the riverside temperature reduction(ΔTa),and the universal thermal comfort index(UTCI)are used as the thermal environment evaluation indicators.The spatial distribution of WPR and thermal environment indicators in different typical residential areas are compared and analyzed,and the influence of river wind penetration on the thermal environment of enclosed blocks of different types and the correlation between WPR and various thermal environment indicators are discussed.The study found that WPR has a greater correlation with the riverside air temperature and temperature reduction,and a better river wind penetration effect can effectively reduce the air temperature in the riverside area.However,the correlation between WPR and UTCI is relatively poor.During the summer time in the Hankou Riverside area,UTCI has a strong correlation with wind speed and mean radiation temperature.According to the performance of river wind penetration and thermal environment of various types of typical riverside residential blocks,the design strategy of riverside city based on typical residential area modules is concluded.Through the combination strategy of different residential blocks and the internal fine-tuning strategy of the residential blocks,the thermal environment of the riverside area can be effectively improved,and the goal of improving the living environment can be achieved.
