Abstract/Summary:
Jiangxi province is located in the southeast of China,and on the borders between the two kingdoms Wu and Chu,which makes the Jiangxi province has excellent historical and cultural traditions.in the development of new China,the development of Jiangxi province is relatively lag,economic development and urbanization of Jiangxi province are not as good as neighboring provinces such as Hunan,Hubei and Guangdong,but it is reserved for Jiangxi traditional folk architecture provides a very favorable conditions,traditional folk architecture in villages of Jiangxi Province are well preserved,then Jiangxi province becomes excellent soil for the study of traditional folk architecture.Jitai region is located in the central Jiangxi province,and is the core area of the “Gan” culture,which is based on the overlay of native culture and immigrant culture of the dynasties from Shang and Zhou to Song and Ming.Since the Ming Dynasty,the migration activities in Jitai area decreased and the population tended to be stable,which makes an excellent soil for the preservation and development of “Gan” culture.including the Jiangxi architectural culture.Jitai area is one of the best-preserved areas of traditional folk architecture in Jiangxi Province,the most striking architecture in village is the ancestral temple,ancestral temple is the highest-grade building in residential buildings,the high cost of construction and its importance in the hearts of the people have made it better preserved than other buildings,the craftsmanship and art of architecture were also more superior.It can be said that there are ancestral temples in every village in Jitai area.There are even more than 30 ancestral temples in large clan villages,which are well preserved and have been continuing their use function and have high academic research value.In this paper,some ancestral temples in Jitai area were photographed,literature collection,measurement and mapping,and the survey results were summarized and studied.The paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter introduces the research background,purpose and significance of the paper,and limits the space and time range of the research object.It makes clear that the research of this paper takes Jitai area as its geographical background and takes the time dimension of ancestral temple building before the Republic of China.Chapter two and chapter three study the development and background of ancestral temples in Jitai area,including the natural geography,historical events,cultural environment,village soil where ancestral temples developed,and the evolution of ancestral temples in Jitai area.The fourth and fifth chapters study the spatial morphology of ancestral temples,including the layout characteristics of ancestral temples in villages and the internal and external space layout characteristics of ancestral buildings,and summarize the plane layout and spatial characteristics of ancestral temples.The study of spatial morphology can help to better understand the development and unique characteristics of ancestral temples in Jitai area.The sixth chapter studies the facade style and decoration characteristics of the ancestral temple,and makes a comparison with Huizhou area to explore the unique characteristics of the ancestral temples in Jitai area.
