Abstract/Summary:
Waterfront industrial remains have the dual value of relic space and waterfront space.The renewal not only faces the development needs of industrial transformation and urban upgrading,but also shoulders the task of shaping the public space to bring the waterfront back to urban life.The early large-scale demolition and construction model of renewal tended to ignore the continuation of local history,and the the public space shaping lacked attention to the living scenes,which led to the problem that the urban atmosphere was diluted and the public space could not meet the actual demand.At present,the spatial renewal of relics is returning to the daily perspective.More attention is paid to the historical values and public values.Guangzhou,as the leader of industrial remains regeneration in the Pearl River Delta region,has accumulated some practical achievements in the renewal of waterfront industrial remains.The existing renewal cases have supplemented the daily public space of the city and injected continuous vitality into the regional rejuvenation,and their practical experiences and problems are of theoretical significance and local practical value.This paper takes the public space in the renewal of waterfront industrial remains in Guangzhou as the research object and introduces a research perspective of everydayness.Firstly,it sorts out the characteristics and renewal status of the waterfront industrial remains in Guangzhou,and then establishes a research framework for the everydayness of public space.Based on the field survey of typical renewal cases,the daily use of public space and existing problems are analyzed.The strategies and methods for the everydayness creation of public space in the regeneration of waterfront industrial remains in Guangzhou are summarized in the context of similar case studies at home and abroad.The applicability of these strategies to the regeneration of waterfront industrial remains in the Pearl River Delta region is further explored in the context of specific projects.The first chapter introduces the research background,purpose and significance of this paper,distinguishes the research object and concepts,determines the framework and methodology of the study,and conducts a research review of relevant literature and practice.The second chapter systematically summarizes the distribution and spatial characteristics of Guangzhou’s waterfront industrial remains,as well as the policy events that promote the renewal development and the current use status of the renewal.The local characteristics and main problems existing in the renewal are summarized.The third chapter introduces the concept of everydayness into the study of public space shaping and use in the renewal of waterfront industrial remains,and establishes a specific framework for the everydayness study of public space.The typical update cases in Guangzhou are selected for investigation.The field investigation data are analyzed according to the everydayness research framework to summarize the specific problems of public space creation and daily use in the renewal of waterfront industrial remains in Guangzhou.The relevant influencing factors are also analyzed.The fourth chapter clarifies the objectives of the everydayness creation of public space in the renewal of waterfront industrial remains in Guangzhou based on the current problems.The basic principles for the everydayness of public space are proposed,and feasible strategies are summarized with the analysis of domestic and foreign case.The fifth chapter further discusses the applicability of the above construction principles and strategies through practical application.The common characteristics of waterfront industry remains in the Pearl River Delta region are analyzed.Summarize the specific practice paths for the daily creation of public space with the practice and feedback of the renewal project of the Jianyuzhou industrial remains to further explore the applicability of the creation principles and strategies in this region.
