In rainy and snowy weather,the road will normally produce freezing ice,which seriously affects the road traffic safety.It is necessary to apply snow melting and ice suppression technical to alleviate this problem.Asphalt pavement containing salts is an active snow melting and ice suppression technology,by releasing salt to clear the ice and snow on the road.However,due to the scour of water in the use process,the salt of the asphalt pavement containing salts is easy to lose,which cannot guarantee the durability of snow melting and ice suppression.Therefore,this paper developed a kind of salt slow-release artificial sand,referred to as salt storage sand,which replaced some sands in asphalt mixture to form a kind of slow-release salt storage sand asphalt pavement.In this paper,the different types of salt storage sand A and salt storage sand B were developed.As aggregates and salinization-based material,the strength,crushing value,water resistance,acid-base property,corrosion resistance of carbon steel,hydrophobicity,salt dissolution ability of these two materials were tested.In view of these two kinds of salt sand,SMA-13 and AC-13 were prepared by equal volume replacement method(salt storage sand volume content: 0%,10%,15%,20%).The snow melting and ice suppression performance,snow melting and ice suppression durability and pavement performance of salt sand asphalt mixture were evaluated.The results show that:(1)Compared with salt storage sand of type A asphalt mixture,salt storage sand B asphalt mixture has better snowmelt and ice suppression performance and snowmelt and ice suppression durability.SMA-13 has better snowmelt and ice suppression performance and snowmelt and ice suppression durability than AC-13,the SMA-13 with 20% salt storage sand of type of B volume content above-6℃ can effectively inhibit the freezing of pavement;(2)Salt storage sand improves the high temperature stability of asphalt mixture,but reduces the low temperature performance and water stability of asphalt mixture;(3)On the premise of meeting the norms,for SMA-13,the maximum volume content of salt storage sand type of A is about 15%,and the maximum volume content of salt storage sand type of B is about 20%.For AC-13,the volume content of salt storage sand type of A is 10%,which cannot meet the requirements of the norm,and the maximum volume content of salt storage sand type of B is about 10%.(4)Compared with the asphalt mixture without salt storage sand,the cost of SMA-13 with 20% volume content salt storage sand type of B increases by only 13.4%,but it can reduce the harm of ice and snow weather on road traffic,and has good social and economic benefits. |
