| In winter seasons,snow and ice on the road surface led to skipping road,which would affect the efficiency and safety of traffic.Compared with mechanical,hydronic snow-melting methods,deicers had the advantage of cheap,effective and could break the bonds between ice and roads,which were wildly used in winter road maintenance operations.However,extensive use of deicers would cause corrosion of road-side structures and facilities and damage plants and animals.Researches on by-products from agricultural processes were conducted to propose an environmental and economical organic deicer for ice and snow removal operations in cold religions.Firstly,researches on physical and chemical properties of EOD(short for environment-friendly organic deicers)were carried out,which was recycled from agriculture factory.It was found that EOD is an alkalescent,viscous,homogeneous red-brown liquid,which had the characteristics of hygroscopicity and high-temperature stability.According to those properties,regulations were proposed to ensure a stable ice-melting capacity of EOD from different batch.Next,based on the efficiency of the freezing point depressing,the snow-melting capacity of EOD and commonly used deicers such as NaCl were compared.And the results showed that the EOD had the same snow-melting property as NaCl and Ca Cl2 when the temperature above-14.4℃.Researches on ice-melting rates of deicers were conducted,and the results demonstrated that the ice-melting property of EOD was relatively poor.According to the results of the experiments on relative ice-melting rate,the ice-melting property of liquid EOD was better than liquid ethylene glycol but relatively poor than liquid NaCl,etc.Based on the results of orthogonal tests,the order of influencing factors of ice-melting capacity of EOD were:temperature>dosage of deicer>ice thickness.Then,adding water to EOD and the commonly used deicers such as NaCl and the liquid deicers were prepared,which were sprayed before snowfall.The performance of anti-icing and anti-slide after spraying,and the ese of removing the EOD ice cubes were evaluated by anti-icing tests,BPN tests and adhesion tests respectively.And the results showed that liquid EOD had the advantage of better anti-icing performance,easy to clear after freezing and less impact on pavement anti-side performance in comparison to liquid NaCl,etc.Furthermore,salts released from chemical anti-freezing asphalt pavement had negative impact on environment.To overcome it,diatomite was applied to adsorb EOD to produce organic anti-freezing filler,and the mass ratio of diatomite and EOD was 5:6.Asphalt mixture with EOD was produced by adding organic anti-freezing filler to asphalt mixture by equivalent volume substitution methods.The performance of asphalt mixture with EOD such as Marshall performance,low-temperature anti-cracking capability,high-temperature and water stability could meet the requirement of regulation and well anti-freezing and anti-sliding properties were acquired at 75%substitution ratio.The results of immersion and shear tests showed that the anti-icing durability of asphalt mixture with EOD was poor for the high-speed liberation of EOD in a short time.Finally,the environmental and economic effectiveness were analyzed,which demonstrated that recycling the agricultural wastes to melting snow had the advantage of low corrosion of steel,less toxicity of plants and low costs.According to the temperature and snowfall,the spraying methods of liquid EOD during snow were proposed.Besides,the preparation technology of organic anti-icing filler and asphalt mixture with EOD were introduced briefly. |
