| In recent years,a large number of data centers have been built around the world with the fast development of cloud computing and Internet industry.Data centers have high-quality demand response(DR)characteristics.They can participate in DR by transferring workloads in time and space scale,adjusting the number of active servers,and managing backup energy power.Optimizing the electricity consumption mode of data centers based on DR program can not only reduce the electricity cost of data centers,but also improve the flexibility of power system.Considering the background of DR,this paper studies the electricity consumption optimization of single data center,distributed data center cluster and virtual data center cluster.From the perspective of the interests of cloud service providers with a single data center,this paper proposes a DR based electricity consumption optimization model of single data center.The model helps a cloud service provider to minimize the electricity cost of its single data center when participating in DR by optimizing the single data center’s workload processing and backup energy power.The effectiveness of the model is verified by simulation.In general,the multiple data centers located in different regions but belonging to the same cloud service provider are called distributed data center cluster.From the perspective of the interests of cloud service providers with a distributed data center cluster,this paper establishes a electricity consumption optimization model of distributed data center cluster considering DR.The model helps a cloud service provider to optimize the workload space-time migration and backup energy power of its distributed data center cluster when participating in DR,so as to achieve collaborative optimization of electricity consumption of all data centers in the cluster.Simulation results show that the model can help the cloud service provider reduce the total electricity cost of distributed data center cluster.In this paper,multiple data centers that purchase electricity from the same electricity retailer are called virtual data center cluster.These data centers usually belong to different cloud service providers.At present,there are no relevant literature to studies the electricity consumption optimization of virtual data center cluster from the perspective of electricity retailer’s interests.Therefore,this paper proposes a virtual data center cluster optimization operation method considering DR for electricity retailers.If a electricity retailer adopts the proposed method to optimize the electricity consumption of a virtual data center cluster,the electricity retailer can reduce the electricity purchase in the peak period of the wholesale market price,increase the electricity purchase in the low period of the wholesale market price,and improve the operating profit.In order to incudce data centers in the cluster to use electricity following the optimal electricity consumption scheme formulated by the proposed method,the electricity retailer can send the optimal electricity consumption scheme to each data center in the cluster and reward the data center that follows the optimal electricity consumption scheme.For this reason,this paper also proposes a reward method based on Shapley value method for the electricity retailer to reward data centers.The simulation results show that the method can improve the revenue of electricity retailers and reduce the electricity cost of virtual data center cluster. |
