The Impact Of The Tramway On The City

Transportation plays an essential role in urban spatial utilization and land construction,especially in urban areas.Trams are a new mode of transport in the Algerian cities,and for the general public,they have been in operation for no more than two years.How to evaluate the impact of this mode of transportation on the city is of great practical significance.This paper studies the effects of trams on the Setif city in Algeria.This paper attempts to explore how trams can improve the urban landscape and image of cities by comparing the technical characteristics of existing vehicles and combining them with the situation of trams in Setif,and to assess the extent to which this approach affects sustainable transport.The main contents of this study are as follows:1.By consulting the relevant literature,this paper summarizes the research of traffic impact analysis at home and abroad.It systematically analyses the technical and economic characteristics of various modes of transportation in Setif city.2.Conduct a questionnaire survey to understand the preferences of travellers for different modes of transportation in their daily lives.The study results will help to understand the impact on the city of the new mode of transport.3.Based on the relevant literature and questionnaire results,a traffic impact analysis model is developed by using Vistro,and traffic impact analysis(TIA)research of the tram on the Setif city were carried out.The traffic impact analysis(TIA)is used to assess the impact of a new transport network.The study was assigned to the transportation network around the site by estimating the number of trips.The surrounding transportation network is then analyzed to determine whether an acceptable level of service or site-generated traffic is provided to ensure improvements to the network.4.To develop a better strategy to upgrade the sustainability of traffic in the city of Setif,including the improvement of existing services,new line planning,other modes of transport and so on.Finally,according to TIA guidelines,this paper describes the development of transportation networks,including trams,and concludes.
