| With the steady progress of China’s "Going abroad" strategy and the"Belt and Road" process,Chinese engineering companies continue to expand their international market of general construction contracting,with realizing a rapid growth of international business.However,most of the companies are still facing realistic challenges arising from cultural differences,institutional distance and other factors during the construction,which not only reduce the profit margin of the project,but also affect sustainable development of companies seriously.Therefore,it is extremely urgent to improve the localization management level of international projects and ensure the smooth operation of engineering companies in their territories.As one of the main project management models implemented currently,localization management not only ensures better implementation of projects abroad,but also plays an important role in strategic plan during specific management processes.Localization management of international general construction contracting projects from the perspective of value chain is studied in this thesis,which first analyzes the status of localization management of construction companies in China.Based on analyzing the value chain of construction general contracting enterprises,the main content of localized management is summarized,and the common problems existing in market positioning,bidding and project implementation(including closing)stage are identified and summarized through the method of questionnaire survey and literature research.Then,through expert interviews and questionnaires,the deep-seated reasons for the above-mentioned problems were discovered and summarized,Then,select representative cases of well-known international contractors to conduct research,analyze their advanced experience in the localized management of international projects,and obtain enlightenment on countermeasures through the analysis and summary of advanced experience.Finally,based on gaining experience and enlightenment,combined with the relevant content of value chain theory,it proposes specific response strategies to strengthen the localization management level of Chinese contractors in international projects from four aspects:organizational adjustment,system improvement,resource integration,and cultural construction. |
