Research On The Compilation Of General Urban Design Guidelines

After experiencing the rapid development of urbanization,many cities in China are faced with the problems of poor spatial quality,lack of local characteristics,and destruction of the ecological environment.The overall urban design,which is considered as an important component of the urban planning or as a result of a separate formulation,has been continuously practiced over the years.The purpose is to scientifically guide and control the construction of urban characteristic space style and form in the high-quality construction of urban space in the future.The theory and practice of overall urban design have been developed in our country for just a few decades.The focus has shifted from the focus on the physical space environment and the dominance of economic factors to the comprehensive planning of urban operations and coordination of multiple public interests,and the design theory and research framework have also been continuously improved.In this process,the overall urban design compilation has continuously made breakthroughs in content depth and technology.However,there are still some shortcomings in the compilation of domestic overall urban design guidelines that need to be improved.The planning management status of the overall urban design has been clarified in the Urban Design Management Measures.However,in the existing laws and regulations,there are no specific requirements and measures for the subsequent implementation of urban design and how to transfer the design goals and concepts to other levels of urban planning in the existing planning system.This poses a challenge to the preparation of overall urban design and guidelines.Therefore,it is urgent to carry out research related to overall urban design and examine the guidance and control of urban characteristics and spatial environmental quality.This article starts with basic research on the positioning and content of overall urban design,and sorts out the positioning and function of overall urban design under the system of urban design and urban planning.This article discusses the basic methods of the formulation of the overall urban design guidelines,and constructs the basic structure and control element system of the overall urban design guidelines.This article focuses on the overall urban design of Dangtu County as an example to build an overall urban design control system suitable for Dangtu urban development.The article eventually serves as a reference for the practice of the overall urban design guidelines of related cities through its practical demonstration.Through research,three basic understandings are obtained.First,the overall urban design is an important part of the urban planning and urban design system,and should be closely related to each other and coordinated.Second,the overall urban design guidelines can be summarized as a "overall control-system control-key control" three-level guidance and control structure and control element system,which is a technical transformation of the "standard provisions" of the overall urban design results.Third,the overall urban design is an important foundation and guiding basis for further development of various medium and micro urban design practices.It should be incorporated into the statutory results together with the regulatory detailed planning to jointly regulate the urban space design and construction.
