Abstract/Summary:
Interventional radiology workers need to operate DSA equipment in the interventional operating room for medical X-ray exposure in order to perform minimally invasive surgery. However, there is no international standard for personal dose monitoring methods for interventional radiology workers. Therefore, interventional radiology work is carried out in my country.Personal dose monitoring and evaluation of personnel and patients is essential. In this study,Monte Carlo simulation method,CALDose_X dose estimation method and field actual measurement were combined, and MCNP5 was used to build an interventional radioactive source item model to simulate and calculate the chest dose of interventional patients, and then CALDose_X 5.0 dose estimation software was used to directly estimate the patient’s personal dose on the field monitoring conditions. In terms of actual measurement, the double dosimeter method is used for the interventional radiology staff(interventional group)of the inspected hospital, and the single dosimeter method is used for the general radiological medical staff(control group). The thermoluminescence dose sheet is prepared into a special dose element and pasted on the four body parts of the interventional patient that were used to monitor the incident surface dose(ESD)of the interventional patient in real time, and the actual inspection of the use of radiation protection equipment in hospitals at all levels was carried out.The actual measurement results show that the average annual effective dose per capita in the intervention group of the tested hospital is 1.71 times the average annual effective dose per capita of the control group. The individual dose outside the lead coating Hp(10)and the individual dose inside the lead coating Hp(10)(effective dose)in the intervention group of the tested hospital. The ratio of that is slightly smaller than the results of foreign studies, and the difference in lead rubber apron equipment(P=0.019)and lead cap equipment(P=0.030)in hospitals at all levels is statistically significant(P<0.05),and the radiation protection monitoring results of the interventional computer rooms of the inspected hospitals also meet the requirements of national regulations.Compared with the actual measured personal dose results of interventional patients, the average error of the CALDose_X dose estimation method relative to the actual measurement result is 7.01%,and the average error of the Monte Carlo simulation method relative to the actual measurement result is 7.41%.According to the actual measurement results in this study, both interventional radiology workers and patients receive greater radiation doses, and there are large differences in the provision of protective equipment at all levels of hospitals. It also shows that double doses are used in the personal dose monitoring of interventional radiology workers is more accurate than the single dosimeter method. From the simulation estimation results of the personal dose of interventional patients, the CALDose_X dose estimation method is more accurate than the Monte Carlo simulation method, and it is more convenient to use.
