| Electric power is one of the important energy sources in the modern life due to the increased demand in recent years.With the rapid development of the power industry,many problems have also arisen,such as the problem of reading electricity meters.At present,the meter reading is facing a heavy,new,and complex situation with the development of urbanization process and new energy technologies.For example,there are so many newly built high-rise buildings,underground garages,and charging piles,which increase the difficulty of meter reading.Nowadays,the main meter reading methods include manual meter reading,wired meter reading,and wireless meter reading.Among them,the manual meter reading method has the disadvantages of low efficiency,large investment,and poor real-time performance;The wired meter reading,which utilizes the laid wired network for meter reading,has the disadvantages of high cost,easy destruction,and geographical restrictions;the wireless meter reading method using Bluetooth,Zig Bee and other technologies has disadvantages such as short distance and poor timeliness,the use of wireless meter reading methods provided by operators has disadvantages such as high cost,high power consumption and easily effected by base stations.Therefore,in order to improve the collection success rate and timeliness of the meter reading system,we propose a novel meter reading approach based on LoRa(Long Rang,a low-power,long-distance,low-rate,low-cost,highly penetrating wireless communication technology.)as an area-specific communication network to provide communication guarantee for automatic meter reading in the above application scenarios.Based on the analysis of the mainstream communication technologies used in the current meter reading system,this article starts from the perspective of establishing a dedicated communication network and uses the electricity consumption data collected by the smart meter as the basis for the overall design of the meter reading system.The purpose is to take advantage of the unique advantages of LoRa communication technology to solve the problem of meter reading difficulties caused by complex,harsh,and new power conditions.The thesis can be devided into following sections:1.Through a simple comparison of several meter reading system,from the perspective of the communication technology adopted by the meter reading system,using the emerging Low Power Wide Area Network(LPWAN)technology,combined with smart meters for wireless automatic meter reading system the study.2.An analysis of key performance indicators of LoRa technology to clarify the focus of using the technology.Based on the analysis of system performance and functions,combined with the requirements of the power industry and the requirements of application scenarios,an overall meter reading system with LoRa communication functions for smart meters is given design.3.The hardware design of the LoRa wireless module of the smart meter included in the meter reading system and the main module of the smart cloud collector.The LoRa wireless module uses the SX1268 radio frequency chip,and the downlink communication module of the smart cloud collector uses the same radio frequency chip.The hardware design of each module is introduced in detail.4.The software of the meter reading system is standardized and designed,which mainly includes the design of LoRa wireless module and smart cloud collection software,as well as the implementation methods of communication protocols,conflict avoidance strategies,networking schemes,optimized parameter allocation,and meter reading processes.Finally,the performance of the LoRa module was tested,and the overall meter reading system was tested for network reading based on the smart meter.The final test results show that the communication distance of the module and the success rate of meter reading are high.This design solution meets the needs of practical application scenarios. |
