As an important part of railway track,turnouts have many types and complex structures,and the workload of design and maintenance is huge.At present,there are not many BIM technology application literatures and engineering practice specifically discussing or studying railway turnout design and maintenance stages,so it is of great practical significance to apply BIM technology to railway turnout designs,construction,operation and maintenance.To achieve BIM-based railway turnout whole life cycle management,the first task is to quickly create a fine BIM model of railway turnouts.In view of this,this paper studies the rapid creation of BIM model of turnouts for general speed railways,and the main research contents are as follows.(1)Extensive research on the main problems existing in the planning and design stage of railway construction projects in China.The concept,characteristics,standards and the current situation of domestic and foreign application research of BIM are analysed,and the advantages and significance of BIM technology applied to the whole life cycle of railway turnouts is clarified.(2)The advantages and shortcomings of various kinds of mainstream BIM core modelling software are compared and analysed,and Autodesk Revit is selected as the modelling software of turnout BIM model.With reference to the Railway Engineering Information Model Classification and Coding Standard,the cod method of the Building Information Model Classification and Coding Standard was applied to classify and code the BIM components of the turnouts of the general speed railway at a deeper level from the perspective of 3D modelling.(3)According to the characteristics of each component of turnout,the accuracy level of turnout BIM component modelling is determined,the turnout BIM component modelling process is designed,and each turnout component family is parametrically created according to the suitable family template selected by the modelling process,and the turnout BIM component library is established accordingly.At the same time,a local turnout BIM component library management platform is built,which greatly improves the access and management efficiency of turnout BIM components.(4)The rapid creation of BIM models of left-or right-hand drive turnouts for different design diagrams was studied,including the parametric one-click generation of turnout 2D model lines,the rapid creation of BIM models of rails,sleepers and beds based on profile families,the rapid batch assembly of other components of turnouts,the type determination of rut forks and the rapid creation of their family instances.(5)The rapid creation of BIM models of turnouts is verified,and the rapid creation of BIM models of left-or right-hand open turnouts of different design drawings with only design parameters and detailed lists of components is achieved.The turnout BIM model is also used to explore the whole life cycle application of the turnout,and it is confirmed that the turnout BIM model of this accuracy level can meet the needs of the subsequent stages.
