With the continuous development of the construction industry,the construction industry has become an important part of economic growth.However,in recent years,the development of my country’s construction industry is in a trend of rapid transformation,and the existing technical conditions and management models have gradually been unable to meet the advanced production concepts.Especially in the 21 st century,the rapid development of computer technology,the combination of electronic information technology and building construction concepts has become a general trend.How to use information technology to create better benefits for enterprises and save costs is the focus of the work of management personnel in the construction industry.The competition in the construction industry is now intensifying,and the requirements for project duration are getting higher and higher.Compared with the traditional DBB model,EPC general contracting can be responsible for the overall design and execution of the project,and take the social,political,economic and environmental aspects of the project’s risks deal with.However,the traditional management model still has many problems in terms of cost control.Due to the large scale of EPC projects and many participants,it is very important to find an efficient and accurate cost management model.Combine the BIM technology with the EPC model and establish a BIM model to realize a full life cycle digital management model.Through the digital management platform built by BIM technology,all project parties can carry out project design on the same platform,and the connection between each other will be closer.For EPC construction projects,cost control occupies a key part of the project.Scientific and reasonable cost control can bring significant benefits in terms of economy,schedule,and project quality.This article starts from the reality of the current status of EPC project cost control,and through a detailed analysis of the characteristic system of EPC projects and BIM technology on the basis of a large number of literature reviews,draws the necessity and feasibility of applying BIM technology to EPC projects,and compares BIM Technology is combined with cost control in the design phase,construction phase,and completion settlement phase of the EPC project.Through actual case analysis,a method of applying BIM information model to EPC project cost management is proposed to achieve the purpose of cost saving and provide information for the future construction industry.The development of globalization provides a feasible way of thinking.The research content and results of this article are as follows:1.EPC project general contracting refers to the general contracting of design,bidding and procurement,construction management,and completion settlement.Compared with the traditional DBB model,the contractual relationship in EPC projects is simpler and less organization and coordination.And through the overall arrangement of the construction unit,the design,procurement,and construction can be effectively integrated,and the general contractor’s subjective initiative can be fully controlled,which is conducive to shortening the construction period and improving the quality of the project.However,the project cost is usually high under the EPC mode,and various risk factors need to be considered comprehensively,which may result in high project cost.2.In view of the cost control problem caused by the unfavorable factors in the EPC project,BIM technology can be used to realize the cost management of the construction project.The use of BIM technology to build a model allows each participating party to participate in the project based on the same data platform.Its multi-dimensional and intelligent characteristics make the architectural elements of the project more three-dimensional and intuitive to be presented throughout the project cycle.Through the accurate processing of engineering data and effective use of resources,real-time management and control of project costs and construction period conditions can reduce the cost increase caused by weak information integration in the traditional mode.3.This article analyzes the cost control under the EPC general contracting mode based on BIM technology,mainly from the design phase,the construction phase,and the completion and settlement phase.In the design stage,compared with the previous cross-linear design model of different design disciplines,the multi-discipline collaboration model based on BIM technology can closely unite different designers and avoid unnecessary design conflicts and disputes.Collision inspection in pipeline synthesis Due to the limitations of traditional two-dimensional drawings,it is difficult for construction personnel to find the collision location at the intersection of complex pipelines.However,through the three-dimensional model established by BIM technology,the staff can use virtual construction technology to first Visually observe the unreasonable parts of its design,and it will be more accurate in the selection of the design plan,avoid rework due to improper design,and realize the optimization of construction cost;in the process of construction plan preparation and construction management,through BIM technology The visual simulation feature restores the whole process of EPC project construction.In the virtual construction process,you can see the areas where each professional needs to cooperate more clearly and intuitively,avoiding the phenomenon of construction site management confusion;BIM technology can be used in the completion and settlement cost management It has the advantage of data processing and storage,integrating engineering information into a unified central database,avoiding the confusion of information caused by the flow of personnel and affecting the efficiency of completion settlement.4.Analyze the relevant engineering data based on specific engineering examples.Take the 34 th Middle School dormitory building project as an example,further analyze the reasons for project overruns by studying the current cost management status,and demonstrate the necessity of introducing BIM technology into EPC projects,and Point out the implementation conditions and methods of using BIM technology at its corresponding stage.The research results of this paper provide a feasible idea for the combination of EPC project cost management and BIM technology,and it is of practical significance for today’s construction companies to improve implementation efficiency and reduce construction costs.
