A Study On The Construction Skills Genealogy Of Traditional Dwellings In The East Of Shanxi Province

Traditional villages and the traditional dwellings are important material carriers of Chinese traditional culture,which not only contain profound history and culture,but also the concentrated embodiment of the concept and wisdom of ancestors’ human settlements,and have inestimable artistic and scientific value.In the long history of thousands of years in our country,the ancestors in the traditional villages continuously improved and innovated the building technology in order to meet the basic functional needs of the living space,such as shelter from wind and rain,protection from cold and summer,prevention of invasion and so on.many types of dwellings have been developed in accordance with local conditions.Dwellings is the most primitive and basic architectural type.the study of local traditional folk houses and their construction skills can reveal the law and mechanism of the construction of regional living environment,and summarize the experience and technology of traditional residential architecture.and for the construction of skills as an intangible cultural heritage to be reasonably protected and inherited,it has important theoretical significance and practical value to promote the development of local economy.This paper takes the dwellings and their construction techniques in the traditional villages in Pingding County,Jindong District,Shanxi Province as the research object,based on a large number of field investigations and interviews with craftsmen.Through comparative analysis,this paper summarizes the technical experience and value characteristics of the traditional dwellings construction skills in this area.On the other hand,through the analysis of the local actual situation and combined with the current political background,the paper puts forward the feasible protection strategy and development direction for the traditional dwellings construction skills from the two aspects of thought and reality.In the context of the new era of rural revitalization and the protection of traditional villages,we hope to enhance the public’s cultural identity with traditional dwellings and construction skills,and provide a certain degree of guiding significance for the protection,inheritance and development of this intangible cultural heritage.The research of this paper is mainly composed of four parts,a total of six chapters:The first part corresponds to the introduction of the first chapter.Through the study of a large number of documents,this paper defines the current background and research object category,and further makes a quantitative analysis of many documents in recent years,in order to summarize the current research hotspots and forecast the trend.On the basis of putting forward the research significance of the topic,this paper combs out the research framework of the paper.The second part corresponds to the second chapter of the thesis.This paper mainly gives a comprehensive overview of the geographical location,natural environment,historical evolution and cultural background of Pingding County in the east of Shanxi Province.On the basis of integrating field investigation and literature,this paper summarizes the location distribution and spatial characteristics of traditional villages in this area from a macro point of view,summarizes the structural types and courtyard shapes of dwellings in this area,and deeply interprets the cultural characteristics and human settlement concepts contained in dwellings in this area.In addition,different types of typical dwellings in the settlement are analyzed and introduced.The third part is the main core of the thesis,including the third,fourth and fifth chapters.From a dynamic research perspective,combined with interviews with craftsmen,the third and fourth chapters systematically summarize and summarize the construction skills of the two main structural types of masonry cave residence and wooden structure house,respectively.Strive to truly show the full process of local dwellings’ construction,and sort out the tool genealogy and craftsman organization model used by traditional craftsmen in residential construction.The fifth chapter analyzes and studies the three most common forms of "isomorphism between cave and building " in traditional dwellings in Pingding County,and summarizes the morphological characteristics and technical experience of each type of these buildings.The fourth part,namely the sixth chapter,is based on the research of the first five chapters,combined with on-the-spot investigation and personal interview,on the one hand,summarizes the own characteristics and value characteristics of the construction skills of traditional dwellings in Pingding County,and introduces the traditional construction rituals handed down from the construction of local dwellings.On the other hand,according to the present situation of the protection of local traditional villages and dwellings,this paper reveals the problems and challenges faced by the current residential construction skills and craftsmen’inheritance,by referring to the protection measures of other areas and combining with the local actual situation,this paper puts forward adaptive strategies for the inheritance mode of traditional craftsmen and the development direction of dwellings’ construction skills,so as to open up their living space under the background of the new era and spread from generation to generation.
