Study On The Ganlan Style In Northern Guangxi Based On Architectural Typology

Traditional villages in northern Guangxi contain valuable traditional cultural heritage in southwest China.With the advancement of urbanization,traditional settlements and dwellings are losing their regional features.How to coordinate style and modernization is an urgent issue to be considered and the nature of traditional settlements and dwellings style is problem-resolving key.Based on the consideration of the proposition and the nature of style,this paper gets clear about the style of Ganlan in northern Guangxi and interprets the meaning of style in more depth via methods about typology.This paper adopts the methods of literature review,questionnaire,inductive and contrast,overlap subjects and comprehensive analysis to study the Ganlan style in northern Guangxi.Typology advocates separating things into image and archetype,so looking for the intersection of architecture and typology,and introducing architectural typology into the study is helpful for the in-depth interpretation of traditional ganlan style in northern Guangxi.Based on the three research methods of architectural typology,which are classifying,meta-design and subjective factor analysis,this paper breaks up the style-characteristics into naturality,humanistic and subjectivity.The style of pile-dwellings and settlements in northern Guangxi can be decomposed into archetype,sub-archetype and variant based on the above three attributes.After sorting out and summarizing the style and feature of Ganlan in northern Guangxi,the characteristic relations among the naturality,humanistic,subjectivity,and the interrelationship between the characteristics and the type are analyzed one by one.Finally,the above results are expressed as a visual chart.The main point of innovation are as follows :(1)This paper interprets "style" comprehensively and provides a new typology thinking for the typology research of settlements and dwellings by considering architectural typology as a theoretical tool.(2)This paper makes an in-depth analysis of pile-dwellings in northern Guangxi based on the characteristics of "style",and providing a theoretical basis for the inheritance of traditional culture and the practical work of rural protection and development.In the end,the visual map of "spirit" and "appearance" are obtained by extracting the features of the archetype,sub-archetype and variant of Ganlan style in northern Guangxi.At the same time,the conclusions of The interrelationship between the material form and the spiritual connotation of Ganlan in northern Guangxi are also drawn :(1)The form of pile-dwellings and settlements in northern Guangxi is the result of the joint action of various attributes of style.(2)Part of the attributes of pile-dwellings and settlements in northern Guangxi determine the archetype of the style,and part of the attributes promote the subdivision of the archetype into sub-archetype.(3)The naturality,humanistic and subjectivity about the style of northern Guangxi Ganlan are interconnected and mutual restraint.The above are the results of the study about the style of Ganlan in northern Guangxi.It is hoped that the in-depth analysis of the traditional Ganlan style in the northern mountainous area of Guangxi can provide ideas for the coordination of style and modernization and the benign evolution of traditional style.
