Wheelchair Design Based On Self-efficacy Of Lower Limb Disabled Persons

According to estimates by the World Health Organization and the China Disabled Persons’ Federation,about 15 percent of the global population has some form of disability,which means there are more than 1.2 billion people with disabilities worldwide.In this huge handicapped group,the physically handicapped people account for about 32% of the total.For people with physical disabilities,due to the limitations of their physical conditions,their daily activities have great difficulties and obstacles.Under the background of China’s comprehensive development into a well-off society in the new era,the design of auxiliary products for the disabled is an important condition to help them achieve a better life.Therefore,from the self-efficacy theory as the research point of design theory,this topic explores the self-efficacy of people with lower limb disabilities,proposes relevant design strategies for wheelchair products,and finally helps them improve their self-efficacy state and self-driving force through relevant design practices.Firstly,the research of this topic starts from the research background of the diversified needs of the disabled,the design of assistive devices is more inclined to experience,and the application of the theory of self-efficacy in many fields of society.Secondly,based on the understanding of self-efficacy theory,the paper explores the corresponding relationship between the theory and assistive devices for the disabled.Taking the design of wheelchair products for lower limb disabled people as an example,the paper further finds out the correlation between the theory of self-efficacy and product design as the entry point of design,which serves as the basic framework of the subject research.Later,in the third chapter of this topic research and the questionnaire survey to the lower limb disabled user interviews,distinguished analysis of user’s basic situation and needs,and self-efficacy of lower limb disabled evaluation research,combined with the research results to build user model portraits,position the late design practice at the core of the target user.In chapter four,based on the study of self-efficacy of lower extremity disabled persons,the author reconstructs the value attribute of wheelchair products and constructs the efficiency service of wheelchair products,and puts forward the design strategies to guide the design practice and development of wheelchair products.Finally,the fifth chapter of this research will be based on the previous research on the relationship between theory and design,core user positioning,proposed relevant design strategies,product design practice framework and content related implementation output.And summarize the research innovation and related shortcomings of this topic,and the future related research and application are prospected.
