In the context of the “child-friendly cities” proposed by the United Nations and the development of child-friendly cities in many cities in my country, people are increasingly aware of the importance of urban public cultural facilities to the growth, education and development of children.Building a child-friendly travel environment for public cultural facilities and improving the urban environment for children’s education is one of the important contents of building a child-friendly city. The diversification of transportation methods has brought convenience and overloaded urban traffic.Severely congested streets and imperfect transportation facilities have seriously threatened the safety of children’s cultural activities. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to find the travel environment of urban public cultural facilities suitable for children’s travel, and propose optimization strategies to improve the travel environment of public cultural facilities. This article summarizes the influencing factors that affect children’s travel to public cultural facilities by combing domestic and foreign literature research.Taking Dalian’s four districts and Lushunkou district as the research scope,it takes 93 four districts in the city,17 public cultural facilities in Lushunkou district,3 case public cultural facilities, and 321 children and their accompanying parents as the research objects.First, analyze the status quo of spatial distribution, configuration, accessibility, public transportation accessibility, and road traffic safety around the facility. It can be seen that the unbalanced spatial distribution of public cultural facilities, the larger the scope of public cultural facilities, and the low travel accessibility and safety of public cultural facilities, lead to the phenomenon that children travel longer and travel distances are too long, which in turn leads to private homes. The increased frequency of car use is not conducive to children’s choice of green travel. Then use the multiple logistic regression model to obtain individual attribute characteristic factors: children’s age, accompany parent status, travel time consumption;built environment characteristic factors: population density;accessibility factors: bus line network density, number of bus stops, road network density;Safety factors: the number of crossing facilities and road intersections all have a significant impact on children’s cultural activities. The second is the investigation of case public cultural facilities, analyzing the walkability of public transportation stations, the characteristics of travel behavior in cultural activities of321 children’s cities, and the satisfaction of travel environment. It can be seen that the public transportation environment of the empirical case presents the problems of weak pedestrian connectivity, low walking safety, and long walking distance at the bus stop;private cars and buses are the main transportation modes for children to visit public cultural facilities;the identity of accompanying parents is opposite to the mode of travel Has a certain impact;the satisfaction evaluation results reflect problems such as insufficient facilities for children’s activities, insufficient parking space, and unreasonable layout of public transportation stations. Finally, based on the findings of the research,in view of the existing problems in the travel environment of public cultural facilities, optimization strategies are proposed in terms of optimizing the spatial layout of public cultural facilities, public transportation travel environment, walking environment, and urban public cultural activity space to promote children to choose green travel methods for cultural activities.Activities,at the same time, provide an important reference basis for constructing the travel environment of urban public cultural facilities suitable for children to travel.
