| When the angle between the first metatarsal bone of the foot and the proximal phalanx of the big toe is greater than 15 degrees,a bulge will gradually form on the outside of the toe metatarsal joint. This deformity is usually called hallux valgus. This is a disease commonly seen in the feet of adults.According to its causes,it can be found that this type of deformity has a higher incidence. The existing orthopedic principle of hallux valgus orthosis is far-fetched,and does not fundamentally perform orthopedics based on the pathology of hallux valgus, and cannot meet the orthopedic needs of patients.Improper use can easily cause foot pain and other diseases. The design of the hallux valgus orthosis can help patients improve the degree of hallux valgus tilt and foot health problems. At present, there have been many studies on the pathology of hallux valgus, and hallux valgus orthosis has also been proved to be effective in intervening and relieving hallux valgus deformity. This article first summarizes the principle and treatment of hallux valgus deformity, combs the objects and methods of this study, and then combs the development and design elements of the orthosis, and then conducts the design and practice activities of the hallux valgus orthosis. And finally verify this design practice through subjective and objective experiments. This study recruited 24 adult women with mild hallux valgus deformity to participate in subjective and objective experiments. The purpose of the experiment was to compare the effects of two orthoses on the market and the innovative design on patients.Among them, the experimental variables are three different orthoses(orthosis1,orthosis 2,orthosis 3).In the objective experimental group,an experiment without an orthosis will be added as a reference for the control group. In the objective experiment, the subjects’ tibialis anterior muscle, gastrocnemius muscle and abductor pollicis muscle were selected for the study. The surface EMG signal was measured by wearing the orthosis for 20 minutes, and the difference between the experimental group and the control group was compared and analyzed. In the subjective experiment, the subjects were first tested for balance using the Berg balance scale, and finally, the comfort of the three orthoses was evaluated using the Likert scale.Muscle fatigue test results show:1.The use of the orthosis has no significant effect on the integrated EMG value of the tibial anterior muscle, and the root mean square value of the experimental group is significantly different from the control group;in the frequency domain index, the four groups of experiments have no significant difference.2.In the gastrocnemius, the integrated EMG value and root mean square value of the orthotics 3 group and the control group are significantly different. In the frequency domain index, the experimental group and the control group are not significantly different.3.In the abductor pollicis muscle, the experimental group and the control group have significant differences in the integrated EMG value, and the control group and the orthotics 1 group and the orthotics 2 group have significant differences in the root mean square value. In the frequency domain index, the average power frequency has no significant difference in the four groups of experiments. In the median frequency, only the orthotics 2 group and the control group have significant differences. The results of the subjective scale show:1.In the balance scale test, there is no significant difference between the four groups of experiments. It shows that the orthosis designed in this topic will not have a balance effect when the patient is active.2.In the subjective comfort evaluation, the orthosis 2 with a large contact area between the soft material and the skin is the most comfortable, while the smallest orthosis 3 has the least impact on the foreign body sensation of the foot,so the comfort impact is also less.Although using orthoses plays a key role in the early treatment of hallux valgus, most of the orthoses on the market are not designed specifically for hallux valgus deformity.Misuse of such orthoses may cause improper correction of hallux valgus deformity for patients. This study explored the effect of hallux valgus orthosis on the subjective comfort and objective muscle fatigue of hallux valgus patients through the innovative design of the appearance and the functional structure of the hallux valgus orthosis. This research can not only provide a research basis for the follow-up hallux valgus orthosis but also provide a systematic orthopedic method for hallux valgus deformity. |
