As the core competition area defined by "Made in China 2025",the large-scale equipment manufacturing industry has become a shining star in my country’s strategic emerging industries and a symbol of national scientific and technological strength.National scientific and technological strength of the dispute,in essence,is the struggle of the equipment manufacturing industry.More than ever,the intervention of new ideas,new methods,and new technologies is needed to enable it to achieve cost reduction,cycle acceleration,and product upgrades in the shortest time.Technological advancements have enabled designers and engineers in the manufacturing industry to obtain more advanced design ideas.Numerous emerging technologies that have only stayed in the concept or prototype stage in the past are becoming more and more prosperous.Hybrid prototype is one of them.The impact on the traditional manufacturing industry cannot be underestimated.This article first conducts research on hybrid prototype virtual reality technology,and fully understands and analyzes the research of virtual reality in the field of industrial design.In the research,through in-depth analysis of the current market’s new design requirements for large-scale equipment,the design elements of equipment products are analyzed.Among them,the styling of equipment products is the focus of the article,discuss the application of line-hunting design rules in the design of large-scale equipment products.Combining the effective experience of virtual reality hybrid prototype technology involved in the configuration design of equipment products,through two experiments,the advantages of virtual space product sketching and the gain effect of virtual space on students’ spatial visualization skills are verified respectively.Conclusion through research and experiments obtained using the hybrid technology on a prototype product configuration and equipment design,and after them the rational evaluation and validation of the results of the design using the analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation.The conclusions are as follows:1.Analyze the design elements of large-scale equipment and propose the application of line-finding design rules in the configuration of large-scale equipment products.2.Combining the line-hunting rule,the grid-finding method with virtual reality,through two experiments,it is concluded that the application of virtual space can enhance people’s spatial visualization skills and help the drawing of spatial three-dimensional sketches.3.Through the virtual design of a large-scale equipment product,the line-hunting method was improved,and the design results were comprehensively evaluated,which verified the feasibility of the application of the line-hunting design rule in the configuration design of large-scale equipment products.This article aims to show the shining points of the collision between hybrid prototype technology and equipment manufacturing industry and the possibility of future development.Try to bring new ideas and references for designers in this field,improve product design efficiency and create greater value for the production of equipment products.
