Research On Architectural Practice And Design Methods Of Japanese Architect Togo Murano

Togo Murano(1891.5.15-1984.11.26)is one of the most important Japanese architects in the 20 th century,and his works have strong personal qualities.During his more than sixty years of architectural career,the Japanese architectural community has experienced from the imitation of European classicism,to the later localization exploration combined with modernist theory and value orientation,and then to the later reflection and revision of modernism.Togo Murano did not fully embrace a particular doctrine or trend of thought,but incorporated the advanced and adaptable parts of thought in different periods into his personal thought system.Murano’s comprehensive expression of elements such as traditional styles,modern technology,social needs,economic attributes,symbolic decoration,and spiritual space has made his works widely accepted.However,this seemingly mixed approach does not make people feel complicated and noisy,but presents rich and unified characteristics.This paper can be divided into three parts.The first part clarifies the historical background of Japan’s modern and contemporary history and architectural development,and tries to outline the formation process of his architectural thought from the aspects of study,work,and travel.The second part is based on specific cases in different periods.Interpretation of the system,explore and summarize its architectural techniques;the third part combines the horizontal comparison of examples to clarify its architectural ideas and design concepts.Finally,on the basis of the above research,it summarizes Togo Murano’s architectural ideas and design techniques,and explores the creative inspiration brought by his architectural ideas.………...
