Manned spaceflight is one of the most complicated projects in human history, the development of manned spaceflight depends on the development of the entire scientific and technological level. At the same time, because of its new development require various fields of modern science and technology,it also promotes the development of science and technology. The next two three decades will see man for the first time on Mars. These voyages will bring humans outside the protection of the Earth’s magnetic shield and atmosphere for a long time.Radiation exposure can cause serious radiation hazards to astronauts and spacecraft electronics.Neutrons from secondary radiation are one of dangerous factors and cannot be ignored in space. In this article, the effects of neutrons on the visual organs of rats were studied by using neutrons as exposure conditions. The morphological and functional effects of neutron irradiation on the visual organs of rats and the changes of retinal protein expression were investigated. The experimental results and conclusions are as follows.(1)Optical coherence tomography(OCT)and examination of blood vessel density in fundus were performed on the rats to study the morphological effects of neutron irradiation on the rat visual organs. It was found that the rats in the irradiated group had vitreous detachment.Fundus photos showed vascular hyperplasia.(2)Through the examination of electroretinogram(ERG)and visual evoked potential(VEP),the functional effects of neutron irradiation on rat’s optic organs were studied. The results of ERG showed that the b-wave latency of 0.01 ERG was advanced and the amplitude was increased. In the inspection of the dark adaptation 1.0 and the dark adaptation 3.0ERG,the b-wave amplitude of irradiated rats also increased to different degrees, which suggested that the function of retinal bipolar cells is abnormal and fundus humoral composition is changed. The results of VEP showed that the latency of N2 wave was prolonged, suggesting that neutron irradiation may cause the intracranial pressure of the tested animals to increase. The amplitude of N1,P1 and N2 waves all increased to different degrees, suggesting that neutron irradiation had an effect on the visual conduction pathway.(3)The difference of retinal protein expression between the irradiation group and the control group was compared and analyzed.Through the significant enrichment analysis of GO and Pathway and literature review, three genes highly related to the retinal injury caused by neutron irradiation were proposed: ANXA1,AQP1 and SLC2A1.
