| This paper is a historical geography study based on the business operations of stateowned railways in China from 1915 to 1927,combining the business operation of stateowned railways with historical space.In the past,the discussion of railway history from the perspective of historical geography focused more on the relationship between railway and urban change.However,as for the research of railway history itself,it is rare to collate and analyze the railway business operation status with accounting and statistical methods,and combine it with time and space on this basis.During the period of the republic of China,railway as the new means of transport,its construction requires a lot of manpower,material and financial resources in our country due to the political situation in the early republic,economic difficulties,make the railway construction rely on foreign capital,with the help of foreign building railways besides must pay high interest,the loss of railway economic rights are more huge.The period coincided with warlords’ infighting and was also a time of frequent natural disasters.That makes the railway transport is also inevitably affected,and this situation on the railway operation to how much impact.In this article to the ministry of transportation encoding: the accounting statistics general report for stateowned railway ministry of transportation(four years of the republic of China-thirteen years of the republic of China)and the ministry of railways census and statistics department editor: "fifteen years of the republic of China state-owned railway accounting statistics general report," sixteen years of the republic of China state-owned railway accounting statistics general report,as the main historical data and data sources,by rail assets,income and expenditure,and ultimately profit results from four aspects to undo the state-owned railway operation during this period,and the personnel,material flow and distribution.Changes of political power,wars and frequent natural disasters in this period all had an impact on the railway industry.Railway development in the period of twists and turns,and at length,total assets,cargo operations made certain achievements,but the achievement is not stable,and because the state-owned railway is by borrowing foreign capital to build more,borrowing from loss of high interest rates and economic rights and brought difficulties to state-owned railway business operations,has brought benefits.Therefore,this paper tries to clarify the progress and achievements of state-owned railways in this period,and restore the real situation of state-owned railways business operation through financial data,as well as the impact of foreign debt on railway profits and losses.And through maps and other means,the use of space to show the different operating conditions.Construct the specific appearance of state-owned railway business operation in this period. |
