As the scale of China’s high-speed rail network continues to expand,the number of EMUs put into assignment on railway has also surged,bringing more challenges to the assignment management of EMUs.Due to its own precise design and the requirements of railway transportation safety,EMUs must carry out maintenance and readiness in the EMU depot after a certain mileage or period of assignment.The assignment and maintenance of EMUs involves two interrelated core schemes of the EMU depot,namely,the EMU assignment-maintenance and the shunting operation of EMU depot.The EMU assignment-maintenance determines whether the EMU depot can complete the transportation tasks of the established routes on the basis of ensuring the safe assignment of the EMUs,and the shunting operation of the EMU depot is related to whether the EMUs can timely carry out maintenance and readiness and put into assignment on time.At present,most of the two schemes are compiled manually.With the increase in the number of EMUs,the time and quality of the scheme compiling may not meet the actual production needs.It is urgent to research the optimization of the automatic compiling of the two schemes,which is of great significance of the assignment and maintenance management of EMUs.On the basis of summarizing the research status of these two kinds of problems of home and abroad,the paper first introduces the functions and facilities of the EMU depot,including the assignment mode,maintenance procedures and integrated maintenance methods of EMU,then leads to the optimization of the two schemes to be solved in the paper,and analyzes the influencing factors and further discussion of the compilation points of the two schemes.Then the paper analyzes the characteristics of EMU assignment in China,including the variable nature of the routes and forms of alternate routes.With the objective of minimizing the number of EMU maintenance and the number of EMUs used in the scheme compiling cycle,the paper establishes an optimal compiling model of EMU assignment-maintenance on the condition of variable routes,and designs a solution algorithm based on path sub problems and simulated annealing optimization.Then the paper analyzes the problems of shunting operation of China’s EMU depots,including the influence of EMU maintenance process and marshalling state,and the selection method of EMU depot’s tracks and their parking positions.With the goal of minimizing the total number of tracks occupied in the scheme,the paper establishes an optimal compiling model for shunting operation scheme on EMU depot based on selection of occupied track positions,and designs a solution algorithm based on path sub problems and simulated annealing optimization.The above two models and their algorithms are verified by using the actual operation data onto Zhengzhoudong EMU depot.The results show that the two models and their algorithms established in this paper can effectively compile the two schemes,and the compilation quality and compiling time are better than the manual compilation results.
